heaters not very hot

Recommended Posts

every car/japanese turbo ive had have always had crap heaters,

only get sorta luke warm, and are never very strong.

ive got water temp gauge, and the car gets to 80 degrees fine, and always holds it at that.

is it the thermostat, heater matrix, or does the supra just have crap heaters also?

will have a go at bleeding on the weekend just incase,

Yeah its common that they get gunky. Good idea to disconnect the in and out flow pipes and hose out the matrix itself from the top of the engine. Just use a garden hose on a reasonable flow, nothing crazy.

Let it run until the crap coming out, stops coming out :D

Should be quite a few pic on here. It may be worth doing twice, once to get it freed up and a second time after using a proprietary water system cleaner. Then put in Forlife and keep an eye on the colour and change it when it loses is deep red colour. Be prepared for the matrix to have suffered damage as corrosion can speed up under a thick layer of gunk.

as Scott M said do it twice.

Flush it out with the garden hose, then plumb back together run with some rad flush, then use hosepipe again, drain the lot and re-fill with toyota red for life coolant.

Then you will just have to wish that the matrix hasnt rotted/correded where the gunk was, as its a pig of a job to replace, ive done it and wouldnt want to do it again for love nor money.
