pistonbroke
Blimey.....I think the main problem with the VS kit is that there so many badly fitted examples out there it gives it a bad name. However, you've clearly pulled it off mate. Great effort, looking forward to the finished result with some higher res pics
cobrastang
that is sex. I never saw a red supra I liked (except that one in denmark or wherever it is with the same Cwest light overs. That is uber sexy. I dunno...Lbm's car looks great.....
Jamesy
really nice job dude. do you rear wheels not rub on the old arches though? or did you get them away when u fitted the overfenders?
kill1308
Thankyou everyone, I'm overjoyed with the response and thought I would of been slated to hell, thanks all and I will keep you updated. I think the reason it hasn't got slated is you told the Veilside haters to stay out... (I had a look anyway though hehe ). I don't like the kit, but you've done a good job in fitting and spraying it, well done

jihwaan
I have this same front bar and it is different to the standard veilside c2 kit. I dont know why this is but if you look closely it is actually quite a bit different- the front nose is flattened, the actual 'mouth' is smaller and the section below the main vents is filled in more- does anyone know why this has been done? it is actually similiar in some ways to the MR2 C2 kit in the last pic http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=107534&stc=1&d=1270048221 http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=107535&stc=1&d=1270048221 http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=107536&stc=1&d=1270048454
dr_jekyll
its because its a copy. i have an original vs 2 front and i put it next to one of the copys and as you said they are a fair bit different. the cop sits alot wider at the bottom also and thats what put me off. if i had to put one on i would have to trim in the bottom corners so they dont hit every kerp when trying to park it. looks nice though
jackso11
I love the colour. Nice deep red. The kit.....hmmm.
jihwaan
there is more to it than that. I have made a lot of moulds of bodykits both originals and copies over the years and there was no reason to do this to it. I dont want to get into an argument about which looks better (the so called 'original' does in my opinion anyway however the more I look at this red one the more I like it) but I can tell you right now someone has spent a hell of a lot of time reworking certain aspects of this kit and it wasn't 'just because its a copy'. The time involved in making these changes is massive- not to mention the symmetry involved etc. Still there must be a valid reason unless someone had frankensteined two kits- that is a more likely possibility. It has always been a two piece front bumper so there was never any need to make these changes 'jus to make a copy'- I know as I myself have had to make one piece bumpers two pieces in the past to mould them properly- that in itself is not easy either but it is much much more than that. dr_jekyll
copywrite laws?
jihwaan
Never thought of that- excellent point... distinct possibility I suppose but it never bothered anyone else before- hell the minute a car / bodykit comes out people are moulding and selling "replicas" of it through lots of channels...hmm makes me wonder... thanks for the suggestion though- I am really curious I have had this kit here for a week or so and ony just noticed this yesterday (yes I must be blind I know) btw nice car dr... dr_jekyll
thanks i like it, im prbably going to have to fit this replica bumper next time my vs is beond repair as i find them increasingly harder to find. i like the "chunkyer" look of the replica but the only thing i would have to change would be the way the lower "wings" stick out , but thats nothing a belt sander and some filer couldnt sort
