Tricky-Ricky
I would just like to get peoples opinions on this email which i intend to send to a car dealer that i had a negative experience with, so do you think that any of the following could be constrewed as libellous, i will tell more once i have opinions;) I would just like to pass on my feedback for what i consider to be your extremely bad customer service! Approximately just over a month ago i rang to enquire about a Nissan Skyline 350GT, which i was interested in viewing, i was give the information regarding the car, but on enquiring about coming to test drive, I was told that you didn't normally allow test drives, and especially in the rain!! and on explaining that i would be traveling in the region of 90 miles to view, i was led to believe that this would be OK. On arriving to look over the car i was then told that i could not test drive the car without a prior commitment to buy!, which IMO any to most other people is the most ridicules attitude to selling a car that i have ever come across! At the time i thought i would just take a look over the car since i had literally wasted most of the day already! and refrained from being rude, which believe me i was tempted, and instead just passed the comment that i couldn't see you selling many cars with that sort of attitude, surly that's one of the reasons you invest in trade insurance for? The end result is that you have lost a sale, as i have now bought the same type of car from a much more accommodating dealer, and at a better price, and will certainly make a point of not recommending you to friends, family and colleagues, and also be mentioning my negative experiences with yourselves to the five Japanese car owners clubs that i belong to, and will be recounting the negative experience to the various car internet forums that i also belong to! So good luck, as you will certainly need it with your attitude! Yours totally disgusted,
michael
Car dealer: *delete key* with no second thoughts. You: Stewing at the lack of a reply. He knows he doesn't do test drives already, clearly he doesn't care what people think about this.
dr_jekyll
thats a good letter, restrained yet effective. what dealership was it so we know to stay clear?
RobSheffield
Id run it through a spell checker and proof read it another few times, but i agree with Michael, if he doesn't care enough to arrange a test drive, he wont be bothered about a badly written letter. I guess i am not bothered about a reply, i guess i just want to vent;) just need to know if i recount my experience and disclose the name on a public forum, is it libellous? thats a good letter, restrained yet effective. what dealership was it so we know to stay clear? Hopefully all will be revealed, as on their site blurb, they see themselves as having a good reputation with import Japanese cars!
Jake
To whom are you sending this letter, Dick? Is it just to the dealer themselves? If so, why bother? What do you hope to gain? They'll surely just bin it at reading the first couple of lines. OTOH, if it's just to them then you don't have to worry about it being libelous. If you do send it, and TBH I wouldn't bother, you want to get it proof-read by somebody because there's a fair number of spelling/grammar changes you might want to make. (no offense like)

ellis
It's not libellous as you're merely stating your opinion (as you do say) so are not stating or implying it as fact. I've corrected it here for you.... I would just like to pass on my feedback for what I consider to be your extremely bad customer service! supra_aero
No. And anyway I doubt a man like him will care less. He can't stop you venting your views to friends and stuff.

bluecoup
if someone you didn't know came to test drive a very powerful rear wheel drive in the rain would you let them drive it ?
Tricky-Ricky
I could actually tell them just who i bought the car from, but i wouldn't want to ruin any business relationships, for those that didn't deserve it;) Oh its only an email by the way, i will need to add one further comment that i was told, Being that " no test drive, without prior commitment to buy" FFS how are you supposed to make that decision on a second hand car without test driving it first! AndrewOW
It's obviously not a very good car. Go for it. Name and shame anyway.
Tricky-Ricky
if someone you didn't know came to test drive a very powerful rear wheel drive in the rain would you let them drive it ? If they where a serious buyer, and had insurance (or i had traders insurance) yes i would, and although they have no reason to have believed me i did say that i had just sold a 500BHP Supra! Also the Skyline 350GT is a lot less powerful than a Supra and has traction control.
dr_jekyll
if someone you didn't know came to test drive a very powerful rear wheel drive in the rain would you let them drive it ? would you buy a car without testing it? thats what car dealers do , thats what they should be insured for. tbourner
if someone you didn't know came to test drive a very powerful rear wheel drive in the rain would you let them drive it ? I didn't when I sold mine (I drove him around instead). But a private seller with no (3rd party) cover is different to a dealer with huge insurance coverage. Attero
As others have said, it will get deleted. But at the end of the day, it's better than nothing. It is a good idea to let people know your feedback on this dealer though. What you've also got to be aware of is that a lot of dealers are like this. They will do what they can to get you to come and look at the car even if they didn't mean what they said. It's a trick commonly used by dealers and individual sellers. Dnk
Really can't see the point, they lost your sale, you bought a car for less from elsewhere, life goes on. Go enjoy your new car and forget the bad experiance is my advice.

How can a dealer have or maintain a good reputation if they do that? i mean whats the point in getting you there then make the whole process of buying the car hard, or unpleasant, how can they possible sell cars by just looking? So IMO people should know. in fact its the apathetic attitude of "oh well thats life" that allows crap traders in all trades to just go on and screw people
