Not knocking your ebay thread as the car looks tidy but you can have 12 free pics on a car sale on ebay so I would take some more of the body, engine bay and interior to try and maximise your sale. Just a thought dood good luck

Have to admit: unless someone had a very good explanation - I wouldn't believe that mileage for a second.

Looks very tidy, though - good luck with the sale.

would a JUMVEA certificate not be proof enough?

I also have a '93 TT auto which has just hit 80,000 kms (~50 k miles) and I have the JUMVEA certificate showing 48,000 kms when it was imported in 2007 ?

sort of makes me wonder??

Personally, I wouldn't trust a JUMVEA certificate by itself. All that means is that they examined the car, checked the odometer and "validate the mileage".

So either:

(a) the mileage was validated against official documentation and service history. In which case, this documentation would be much more useful!

(b) the mileage was validated by examination. This cannot be considered a guarantee of accuracy.

Service docs are much more useful pieces of documentation.

Overall, I tend to largely ignore mileage figures unless there's all the supporting documentation - the age and condition of the car (and gradings for imports) are far more trustworthy measures.

For example, if milbarn's car is as good as it looks in the pics, I wouldn't really worry if it was 98,000 or 48,000 miles - it won't make the car any better (although it might affect resale value, of course).

Would be interested to hear Jurgen's (or any other importer's) view on the subject.
