RobUK
Hi Guys, I was talking to a friend of mine today who is a mechanic for John Dear and also does some support for a local rally team.... I mentioned to him about converting from Auto to 6 Speed and that i was struggling to get hold of a 6 speed box..... He mentioned that it should be possible to get the 5 Speed box and then get a getrag gearbox kit to convert it over to 6 speed.... has anyone had any expericence of trying such a thing? Thanks Rob

RobUK
Got you scratching your head then Martin ? if it's possible then I suspect 5 speed gear boxes might go up in price ! Rob
Kirk
I cant say ive ever heard of this before. I cant see it being possible as the getrag is ALOT bigger than the 5 speed
RobUK
Fair enough..... he had only done it on a Scooby (sure he said scooby)..... I just thought it would be worth asking the question...... Looks like the Search for a 6 Speed it still on....

Ian C
The Getrag 6 speed is a 4 speed unit with a 5th/6th module bolted on the front of it. So no. -Ian
