Been reading the paper today here in Aus and there is an article on the crack down of 'hoon' cars.

You guys think the cops are strict in the UK.... these guys take it to another level over here!

cars are to be no less than 100mm to the ground, exhaust rules apply and filter pods, i assume are performance air filters, are also a no-no!

unfortunately you also get the usual bull from the press and the police and i quote from the paper re filters..."after a while they become saturated with fuel - and that can catch fire..." also the mention that they are dangerous and wholly unnecessary. I had to laugh at that point!

think I might be leaving the ute standard and use the money to buy a boat!

Good Plan

it certainly is..In fact its one of the reason I bought the ute...as I know I will be towing a boat as soon as I can afford one and needed something with a bit of grunt to pull it!

I feel sorry for learners! the restrictions on L and P platers over here are so strict, such as not allowing to carry more passengers than allowed or reduced speed on freeways. Makes me glad im old and passed in the uk! :p

I would seriously think of emigrating to Oz, but I am amazed that for what appear to be a nation of laid back people you have such Draconian traffic laws. I think that would be a real downside for me. How is NZ in comparison, in their acceptance of performance road cars? If you've had a sniff of a whiskey cork are you treated like a potential mass murderer over there, with ludicrously low drink drive limits, too?

they do focus a lot on keeping the roads safe. now the best bit is, those rules are for nsw. if u go to victoria they have less strict rules for mods from what I understand. drink drive limits are about the same.. unless u r on p plates. then its zero amounts
