Recommended Posts

Hello guys

Car is '97(NON-VVTi) JDM Supra TT 6sp.

mods at the moment of testing were:

Mine's ECU

TRD Ver. S catback (2.5-3"")

HKS Midpipe 3"

TRD filter in stock airbox

HKS SSQV

stock SMIC

1st cat in place

BCPR7ES plugs (gap not touched, should I ?)

no boost controller

Here's the result:

http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/7699/img979.jpg

car was tested in 3rd gear

the result is in WHP (~300whp)

I just don't like the power loss after 150km/h

is it normal?

anyone have stock or bpu supra DYNO RESULT?

I don't know what boost it was at and I have no boost controller so I hope it was stock boost but who knows (((

hi mate,

um, i think that is a bit low, but i think your problem is the cat still in place, and what level of boost your running.

heres a dyno run of mine, similar mods,

exhaust, filter, FMIC, double decat, restricotor ring, FCD.

boost is 1 bar, but i dont know if this graph is based on 1 bar or 1.2.

Thats a fly figure though not a Wheel BHP

Yeah I see

but I'm curious about my power drop after 150km/h

as I see from others dyno result it's not normal

can it be a vacuum/boost leak?

299 bhp at the wheels on stock SMIC is not too bad on an old car, it will be running out of puff and thats why the power is dropping off, need to see the RPM range to be sure

Remember its a 3rd gear pull so terminal speed will be lower

what do you mean ?

don't have rpm range (((

3rd gear pull on stock boost, stock tubbies and an old SMIC will see power peak as the turbos reach optimum level then power will drop off slightly, this will also be exaggerated if you SMIC is tired

Without a RPM figure the power drop could just be the mapper/garage letting off the gas as RPM's reach peak, its hard to say

Dont worry too much on dyno figures mate, I still say 299 WHP on a stock SMIC,boost and tubbies is a good result with the first CAT still in

tooquicktostop,

thanks mate

The guy who tested my car told me that it was in 3rd gear

but now looking at the speed it doesn't look like it's in 3rd

in 3rd gear max speed is 148km so it can't be in 3rd right?

Now I have removed the first cat and replaced it with a 3" downpipe

I don't have restrictor ring because it's not overboosting, max seen is 1 bar at higher gears/speed

btw,

should I re-gap the plugs?

I have no idea what's the stock gap on BCPR7ES???

Or maybe it's better to change them to BKR7E and gap to 0.7-0.8mm?
