bodilx6
I've only read good things regarding the TTE wheels (that I'm getting closer and closer to ordering), but recently a technician from Toyota told me he had seen countless wheels damaged and accuses them of being weak in structural design and rather heavy, especially on the outside rim. Any thoughts on this info?
AndrewOW
I don't know how old mine are, but I've never had any issues. They were refurbished not that long ago, and I haven't had any issues with them at all. As for weight, they felt a lot lighter than other alloy wheels I've had over the years, but I don't know what your intentions are for the car once you get them on. peter richards
most of these alloys are getting on in age , like the cars they came off , the only issues i have heard of and this was when i was looking fior mine was the rears were prone to cracking (hairline ), but mine are fine , so probably just a batch or something might have had a fault , but remember they are old now, and the GS 300 sport is a lot heavier than a supra , so cant see MR T / lexus making a mistake and putting weak alloys on a heavy flying machine Edited March 18, 2010 by peter richards (see edit history)
bodilx6
It sounds weird to me as well, but this guys has some credentials behind him though. The TTE's I'm thinking of would be the Grand Stands bought from new through TTE germany or Lexus Denmark. My intentions are to get room for EU spec brakes and keep the weight down to a minimum within reasonable cost and having main focus on getting the correct offset. Alternatives are 2 - 3 times the price. Like forgeline, ADV, Rays or Image Wheels.
