seanfraser
thanks dunk, know its a personal thing just nice to get other opinions, particularly from you lot who have had them alot longer will look at getting it re done soon, the only bit letting it down for me at the moment
Animal
might be little expesive and unsure where to get it done butcould you have the carbon bit with a red weave in the carbon, seen a few bonnets wth a coloured thread in the weave Or get the carbon sprayed in a clear red laquer... That's a burgundy candy clearcoat on my bonnet, so looks quite dark. When the sun hits it, it really shines out with the weave.
seanfraser
wow nice bonnet, so thats just a carbon bonnet with a colour laquer over it? was the paint expensive?
Animal
wow nice bonnet, so thats just a carbon bonnet with a colour laquer over it? was the paint expensive? Yep, nothing special, so to speak, just paint. Bonnet boot and doors are all painted carbon, the body is the same colour over a metallic gold basecoat. The paint is House of Kolor 'Brandywine Red Kandy' which was something like £60 / litre (I'd have to have a root through my old build threads to see if I listed prices), but there are cheaper ones available. You can buy clear laquer tints that you just mix in with the laquer and spray on which are way cheaper. Plus, if you're only doing little bits, you'd not need very much. seanfraser
ahh right nice one, thanks for the tip mate i might well be in touch did you do all the painting yourself?
Animal
No worries. Everything was done by a garage local to me (and they took 2 attempts to get it right after the paint slid off the body ). The Brandywine Kandy concentrate was 21.20/half pint and it took nearly 2 pints to do all the carbon.
Nic
some pics I think it looks good as it is, just needs the front lip tidying up with a respray. I'd possibly fit a white TRD rear wing, that'd be it though for me. Too many exterior badges and accessories can make it look like you've done a Halfords ram raid. I'd spend the money on the mechanical side of things, suspension, brakes, tyres, etc.

seanfraser
yeah i agree on not doing too much more, definately going to look for a trd rear wing, as for the wheels i think ill stick with the lenso's, they are from two sets and quite unique. facelift lights are a good idea, time to go shopping
scotty71
Nice car. I was going to look at this car in November but he had it up for 5.5k which I thought was too pricey. One of the best N/A's advertised though. From the pics I saw on PH I would keep it mainly as is and not go to over the top scotty
Nic
I'd also fit brand new dash panels and get rid of the red bits.

seanfraser
personal opinion though nic, i replaced grubby white gaiters for red leather, and the real silver carbon fibre panels are just a bit different, think they look quite nice

Nic
Why does it need new dash panels ? He asked for suggestions, I don't like the stick on dash kit.

Brand new dash parts are getting on for £500, i'd strip them and then paint them rather than buy new. nevins
If you are dead set on white and red, just take a look at a integra type r. They have that look down to a tee. White on white alloys red recaros job done.
