Ricky49
Looks like David Beckham is out the world cup with a snapped Achilles. It would have been a good send off for him if he got to another world cup.
Havard
Gutted...!! Big game player and masses of experience for the younger lads. The way he played for Milan in midweek justified his selection for me...!! H.
Supradoopa
Absolutely gutted I'm sorry but with the whole Terry hoohaa going on the numerous wags going to South Africa and now Beckham out, I don't think we stand a chance. Let's hope I eat my words in a few months time

Beckham doesn't have any pace, but who needs pace with a delivery like that..... SWP ftw... H.
Supradoopa
At least Walcott seems to be getting better, yep SWP ftw
Harris25
ye bad news. i would have just had him taking free kicks on the sideline all tornament ready for the 93rd minute v Germany on the edge of box free kick. get him in!

He's not all that as a defender but going forward he's great. He's injured as well at the mo but should be back playing soon.
Abz
That is terrible news! The guy is a legend! The way he plays is brillant, his 15 minute performance with AC Milan showed how good a player he is. With him on they had the strongest chance of scoring a goal. His inch perfect delivery and footwork is truely world class & regardless what anyone says the man has a few years left in him still! Bring back the team of '96 now they were worth gunning for!

Exactly, when he come on against Man Utd he created threat after threat. He is deadly with that right peg, either dead ball or in play. All the others mentioned would do him in a race but then their crosses end up in row f

They so knew they should have brought him on earlier & that volley that he took from outside the box was the usual Beckham quality! If it went slightly either side then it would have been a fantastic goal!
hodge
I'm recovering from a snapped achilies myself I bet he won't play for atleast 6 months to a year.
hogmaw
Still some options on the right, I doubt Beckham would have been 1st choice anyway: Beckham - out Lennon - possible out, deffo will not be fully match fit Joe Cole - possible, but not 100% fit and not playing much Walcott - rarely starting, inexperienced Gerrard - isn't a wide player, but has played there for England and will get exposed against decent teams SWP - ok form, but not a regular 1st choice for citeh Jinky Johnson - in form and got a chance of making it (did you see that goal against Sunderland) Glen Johnson - possible unfit, ok going forward but dodgy at the back
Abz
Some information regarding the injury: http://hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html/achilles_tendon_rupture.html Hodge, sorry to hear that. Does it hurt when tearing that tendon? I've torn my ankle ligament last week & still in pain! Been off work all week!
