jazz1
Iv been talking to my brother who said he would do most my single converstion towards my supra after my dads new business is set in couple months. Now if i do go single i dont just want to do the bolt on turbo kit. The kit i would go for is the T40Z but also i want the complete internals built to handle high horse power gains. What would be a good pro build cost roughly with top internals and everything required?

jazz1
What about some guys who run 700bhp how much have you lot spent? I was thinking 15k I would get a good setup?
JamieP
For a T04Z id not bother with building the engine unless there is something wrong with yours? healthy stock engine will handle that power easy.

Chiefgroover
Carillo rods, stock pistons will be fine, ARP head and mains studs, T04Z kit with your choice of a/r, stage 2 phr fuel kit, centerforece clutch, AEM ecu and wideband, FMIC, HKS Dli, boost controller, 3" exhaust, 256/264 cams, new engine gasket set and dynamic balance of complete crank assembley. options, to handle the power, Endless ccx pads, TRD diff, oil cooler, PHR billet timing pulley bracket, boostlogic crank pulley etc. You could do pistons and heavy mains caps for extra insurance if you wish. crap you dont need, includes water injection and lowered compression pistons or head gasket. price that out and your getting an idea. JamieP
Thanks guys I think I would build the internals aswell, imi your right haha Unless your engine is f**ked thats a total waste of money on a small single.
jazz1
Unless your engine is f**ked thats a total waste of money on a small single. My cylinders did have low compression when lee done a service I don't know if it was due to build up of crap as I hardly never drove it. So either way I would have to get the internals done, isn't the t40z good for high horse power gains like 700+
JamieP
Go on a hub dyno and you might make 700bhp.
jazz1
Go on a hub dyno and you might make 700bhp. So whats the best turbo for 700+ then? iv read good reviews on the greddy T88?

jazz1
When from? 1974? Haha:D i guess i have a lot to learn. Its just if i do go single and spending money no decent parts i would want high horsepower gains like you:p
JamieP
You wont go wrong with a T04z, if you run big boost you might make 700bhp.

jazz1
Certainly would be. tooquicktostop
I made 735bhp on TDI's hub dyno with a T04Z at 1.8bar on a stroker RB26, good turbo with a quality kit (manifold etc), not the cheapest though
Chiefgroover
256/264 BVH and 1.65 bar boost =700bhp on T04Z with 0.81 housing.

Hub dyno again im guessing? i still think rhhp= fly, seen it many times, dont dynapack themself say the same? put it on SRR and you would knock a 100bhp off the figure i bet, good for the pub talk though, plan to get on one myself soon. JamieP
Your setup looks nice how much did that roughly cost if you dont mind me asking? There wont be much in the cost no matter what turbo you go with Jazz, your main cost will be what way you go with the engine build, dont get me wrong, im not slagging the T04z, its a very good unit.
