just asking around if any one has a 1st or 2nd cat pipe they fancy selling to me :D i

reason being im currently running dangerously close to 1.4 bar on my BPU TT Jspec with stock turbo's and i would rather keep them from exploding. :) also just to ease my pain with passing the MOT in april.

cheers for any help guys.

I don't have one (well apart from one with a hole in it!). However if MOT/emisions are a concern, only fit the 2nd cat, do not fit the 1st one when running higher boost (0.9 bar+). It should pass fine with only the 2nd cat in place.

In the mean time, fit a restrictor ring to limit the boost :)

cheers homer, might get my restrictor ring looked at then as it might well be a 1.2 bar ring.

so am i right in saying getting a 1 bar RR will lower boost by a few notches to "safe zone" for me turbo's ?

ahh your a star bud, the 2nd one would be great. PM me a price your thinking of .... or if you just want them out of your garage ;)

just to double check .. they have come off a jspec TT facelift yaa ? not sure the facelift bit matters but you know what i mean.

Apparently what matters is whether you have the VVTI engine (I think there are facelifts that don't have the VVTI engine?)

I've recently done exactly the same as you - been looking for one or other cat for my jspec VVTI TT. Sorted it with Whifbitz in the end - thanks Paul - but one thing I did learn is that the first cat is different on the VVTI engine.
