p111ddy
I'm going for bigger brakes on my supra as I just hand a TT conversion done by Keron (Top job & a really nice guy) Thanks again Currently, I have the normal j-spec 2pot front & 1pot rear. I was planning to put on UK's front & rear but they will not clear the front wheels. I'm currently running 19" Blitz Technospeeds Z1's & UK fronts will not clear unless I use a spacer which I don't want. As there only seems to be approx 1-2cm space with my current set up So the question I'm asking is can anyone recommend a good enough set up? I do need these within the next couple of days. So all help would be really appreciated. Edited March 12, 2010 by p111ddy (see edit history)
hoff
If you are stock on J specs, chris wilson fast road pads and braided lines have always been a good set up from what I've been told from people like Andy T who have them. I had his fast pads when I was using J spec brakes and they made a good differance to the bite.
tooquicktostop
I ran with AP 6 pots with these wheels with no spacers, great brakes

Supranature
You've got the same brake set up as some stock TTs. AP's will cost a small fortune. Why not go for the optional 4 pot j-spec set up, with braided lines and CW pads?. Doing this yourself will still cost £600 plus, assuming you can get hold of the better calipers. Dnk
The biggest problem is AP's are around £1800 just for the fronts, stunning brakes i'll admit but UK spec front and rear for everthing is around £1200 - £1300 !!

I'll have to look into that, thanks Yeah I understand that AP's are not cheap but I'm not looking to go massive spec brakes just something that is suitable for bpu even though I'm not there yet. UK's were an ideal choice but they will not fit. So I'm looking for alternatives, has anyone heard of Hi Spec brakes? Abz
I have a TT, OEM discs with after market pads, braided lines & Dot 4 brake fluid is a decent setup. I've not used CW Pads yet but will be using them soon as they have been getting excellent review. The advice above is if you got more to spend & want a better setup. If you plan on tracking the car then I'd recommend the advise from the members above.

Nic
A set of carbon composite Endless 72 pads, braided brake lines, decent brake fluid and a brake master cylinder stopper will significantly increase the stopping power of the smaller Supra brakes. Hey Nic could you explain more about this "brake master cylinder stopper"? This is an expensive part & does it make quite a difference to braking power? Thanks
Nic
Hey Nic could you explain more about this "brake master cylinder stopper"? This is an expensive part & does it make quite a difference to braking power? Thanks They do noticeably firm up the pedal feel and subsequently increase the stopping power. The master cylinder does flex quite a bit, especially on cars with the smaller brakes fitted. If you want to check for yourself, get someone to press on the brake pedal whilst the engine is idling. There are cheaper ones, but assume their fitment/rigidity is compromised?
Abz
Thanks for the very informative reply Nic! I've never thought of this & think it might something I need to firm up the brake feel. Thanks Dean, lovely engine bay

How much & how soon could you do the pads Nic? If you do them & say it'll take a week or so for delivery?? Then do you know of anyone that does them in the UK please? Try £2200, that £1800 was a one off from Whiffin, wish I'd bought them then, starting to seem like a bargain now
themodifiedkid
i currently have jspec calipers with chris wilson fast road pads running my bpu tt and not had any problems. Ive also got the brake cylinder stopper identical to the cusco one and i paid £30 from a company on ebay, it definantly firms up the anchors
