Supra_Sean
I know but i hear alot of talk of will they fit over uk brakes etc etc ? And most people wont post and i need postage to Germany (bfpo) so thought i would make my own topic
pedrosixfour
Well if its a NA there its more than likely got the small brake set-up which means that clearance is not an issue. If you find wheels you like then try organising a courier, probably far cheaper anyway and most people can and will accomodate a courier pick-up. hoff
If you are after some aftermarket wheels you are likely to be looking for 8.5 wide up front and 9.5/10 rears. The stock wheels have an offset off 50. However, aftermarket wheels are around 35 - 37 i think. Then when you start changing widths etc that complicates the offset issue alittle. Use the search button and you will find a lot of comprehensive coverage of this, far more than I can help. Most 2nd hand wheels for sale in this section should be suitable. If you go for a new set the traders on here will be able to help you out and get the correct widths and offsets etc.
Supra_Sean
Hmmmm ok thanks, I found that most 5x114.3 alloys on ebay have a ET of like 15/20/25 lol i take it thats no good right ?
hoff
No, the wheel will be pushed out a long way. This is detrimental to the handling and may not even fit within the standard arches.
Supranature
Sean, whats your budget? Supranature
I,ve got these on mine. This is a bargain, with tyres, tho they're likely to be gash http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-KEI-D1-ALLOY-WHEELS-TOYOTA-SUPRA-TYRES_W0QQitemZ120531451990QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET?hash=item1c103c0056 Wheels alone worth £
hoff
G-nemie and James C have these. Really nice wheel for relatively low price. Ultralite and Rota are also a good buy. New with tyres (good tyres - Falkens) you're looking at about £1200.

Theres a few on here with them wheels. Based on that links info, MKIII wheels will not fit a MKIV. If they did it would say so. Wheels £449, say £120 each for rear tyres, £100 per front. Its an expensive business is new wheels Those tyre prices are Falken/Kumho level- DONT be tempted by Wanli/Fullrun/Nexen,etc. Do a search on any potential tyre choice. Maybe tyre prices are better in Germany?

They was going to charge me £100 for a 17" tyre but unsure what make it was Pay the extra £150 for the Avon ZZ3s. TRUST ME. Thats for 4, not each wheel. Does that then fall within your budget? They will fit, probably with the aid of a spigot, which they have poetically described as a "fitting kit" A spigot ensures the wheel sits properly on the hub. Supra_Sean
Yeah i have had to use spigot rings in the past, I know Avons are well known tyres but i also need miles outta tyres so is it worth getting harder cheaper ones and lose some grip, I had avons on my civic coupe and they were well soft and with the camber lean they didnt last very long ? Ideas ?

Ideas ? Cheap tyres are known as "ditchfinders" on here. A Supra is a powerful RWD car (even the NA). I have seen and read many a thread on here with regards to the lack of grip with cheap tyres. They are cheap for a reason- THEY'RE SHITE. If there was one area of your car where you should get the best-whatever- its tyres. Your Civic was a FWD, so tyre wear characteristics are totally different. Do a search on "ZZ3"
Supra_Sean
Ok did the search and found they are good in the wet and dry but dont last that long, Only prob i have is when im on leave i drive 800 miles back to the uk then around the uk on leave then 800 miles back to Germany, But then again if i have to buy new tyres every few months then i have to thats the price i pay for the car i have, The question i ask myself is, Is it worth it ? So far i think hell yes haha. Hmmmmmmmm

An expensive tyre, gives excellent grip, but doesn't last long (comparitively) Its horses for courses. What do you want to spend in total?
