toyo rob
Got a full J spec system at the mo. Would prob be best to upgrade but would just upgrading the discs and pads be enough or should i go for new calipers? if i did go for new calipers where would i get them from - no one seems to sell alipers on their own. seems to be full brake kits only. got s/s brake lines already on order. Cheers Rob S
Guest Terry S
OK tricky one. Ideally UK's as they are much better. If you cant stretch to that a set of decent pads. The JDM's suffer awful fade. Remeber with colder pads you will get more noise. HTH
colsoop
I wouldn't waste your money on uprated discs, stick with stock. Get some uprated pads from somebody like chris wilson they improve the braking of the car significantly and get some decent brake fluid in it. If you can afford uk brake calipers go for it, have a word with Nic he is about to organise a group buy, im sure he can supply you with just calipers, but it would probably work out cheaper to buy discs and pads at the same time. Make sure though that the alloys on your car will clear the bigger uk calipers.

Cheers Rob S Rob I posted [thread=38981]THIS THREAD[/thread] yesterday asking if anyone was interested in a group buy of the larger Toyota Supra brakes. If you can't stretch to these, get some fast road pads from Chris Wilson and use motul brake fluid. As Col says not worth spending money on aftermarket discs for the J's just use stock Toyota discs. TLicense
Rob, I'm pretty sure you'll not be able to use your J-spec discs with the UK calipers anyway, so you'll need new discs, and seeing as the calipers are completely different you'll definitely need new pads. So basically the choice is to stick with J-spec calipers and go the route of upreated pads, and possibly discs. Or Go for a complete UK or alternative (read more expensive) set-up Either way you'll need some new fluid.
