Dash Rendar
Remote start is awesome. I've never had so much fun with a car. In crowded car parks, I wander past the cars shouting "START" at random. When I get to my car, I shout "START" while secretly pressing the button in my pocket. The car starts, onlookers look very surprised, and I don my shiftiest face while getting in the car and pretending to steal it. I've also pretended to talk to my watch, saying "Please start KITT." IMHO, it's the best mod you can get, so do it!

Abz
it was in no particular order I use to have one on my EG Civic when they first came out! Quality kit & very handy in the cold weather. Did you fit a full new alarm with the system or just the remote start bit?

SupraStar 3000
Knowing my luck I'd leave it in gear, press start whilst showing off,... only to watch my pride and joy launch itself off the top floor of a multi story car park.
RobSheffield
You cant remote start with it left in gear. I told my mates daughter the car was magic, he was well annoyed as she was on at him to get a 'magic car'
Dash Rendar
Did you fit a full new alarm with the system or just the remote start bit? Nah, it was a surprisingly cheap upgrade for the alarm I've already got. Knowing my luck I'd leave it in gear, press start whilst showing off,... only to watch my pride and joy launch itself off the top floor of a multi story car park. Ed, for another 50 quid or so, I also had the remote boot release feature installed. I thought you might find that particularly useful. P.S. As Rob says, it's impossible to prime the system while still in gear, so there's no risk of remote launch! (There are some very clever safety features on this module. Very impressive design...) I had and old lady come up to me the other day to tell me that a few days previously she had told her granddaughter not to be silly when she said that the white car started on it's own. trinitom
do Toad do this or is it just clifford? i know clifford and viper do them, i thinking in get one of this too for my clifford 650. http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/alarms-accessories-c-137_1056.html
caseys
I find it a PITA sometimes... Like when i've gone to friends flats and the alarm is still in range and I sit down and it clicks the remote start in my pocket. Done it a few times then heard the noise of my exhaust after a few minutes. Think it's just a fad really, I'm in agreement with people that you should get in the car and just drive off rather than sit idle and let it warm up improperly. tbourner
I don't really see a need for it other than playing silly buggers and showing off. Not that you need a better reason than that I suppose.
Snooze
Can't recommend the Clifford 650 enough in this and other regards. As well as the remote start, boot release and window closure, there's another couple of auxilliary outputs you can use for triggering anything. The remote start is great in the mornings - I start mine up while I'm still having breakfast - then the oil is already warmed up when I'm leaving the house. It also has a mode for battery charging when you leave the car for long periods - it can detect when charge gets low and run the engine for a while to recharge.
