Rear ABS routeing

Recommended Posts

I have a car fitted without ABS. I'm in the process of fitting ABS sensors for RLTC. Can anyone tell me where the cables for the rear sensors should enter the boot? I have the sensors with grommets on, but I'm not sure where to start looking to put them through!

Pictures showing the wiring routeing would be great!

Thanks.

Not a very good pic, not easy to see.

The cable goes inside a rubber tube and runs along the wishbone and under the chassis.

If you need better pics and no one else can get them I could get you some tomorrow as I am on holiday.

Merkx thanks for that, it's a great help.

Can you see where the wire disappears into the car? Does it go into the spare wheel area or somewhere towards the edge of the boot. I want to see if I've got any grommets blanking off the holes – but there’s nothing obvious in my car.

merckx - I have a loom like that already (and like yours there's only one), so I'm thinking that can't be it - I'm sure I don't have any ABS cables in the car at present (certainly no sensors).

tdaxgav - Have you got any pics?

Or am I being dumb and are the holes are on the side wall? .. .I am going to have to take a look now. :conf:

Ok, looking for dark holes, at night, on a black car wasn't ever going to be easy :D

But I think we might be there! On the sides of the wheel well where the spare sits (hidden by the tool trays), I have four round black stickers. Two on each side. The top ones on each side are solid metal underneath, but the ones nearest the rear of the car have holes under them!

Now just need to work out where the holes appear on the underside of the car... I guess they'll probably be blocked with grommets, so I'm going to leave that job until day light!

Thanks for your help guys.
