Branners
Never been to this before, just looked at the ticket prices. Is it really £50 entry per person? Or is there a cheaper ticket? JB
Bobbeh
No, its that expensive... a v good day out though.
Smallshinyant
its to keep the riff raff out although it does seem to work, you always get a great crowd of car lovers.
Branners
Wow, thats a bit of a shocker. I was expecting £35 or something (I am the riff raff you refer to I believe... ) Is it worth going on the Friday, or is there less to see then? What would the best day be? Paul Whiffin
Bloody hell, is it that much these days! Bloody good day out though if you like your motors though.
AndrewOW
It's a grand day out. Me and my late dad loved it when I took him there for the day. We went on a sunday, but I remember it costing around £35, but this was in the early noughties.
Gaz6002
I'm paying over £100 per ticket, and I got invited It's worth every penny though, and then some.
Bobbeh
You do get to mingle with some celebs in the Supercar paddock and you'll probably get as close as you ever will to most f1 drivers, so if that sorta thing entertains you then its deffo worth going to. You've also got all the variety/history of cars on show, and being driven up the hill, good stuff!
AlexM
I've been told that you really need to do all three days to take it all in (if that's even possible), I'm keeping the weekend clear ready for it!
Gaz6002
I've been told that you really need to do all three days to take it all in (if that's even possible), I'm keeping the weekend clear ready for it! Friday is best IMO because that's when most people are at work, and all the cars are unveiled. However, the Sunday is good for racing and atmosphere. Saturday is just mental. If you're going to do the whole weekend, you'll easily be looking at spending over £1000.
AlexM
If you're going to do the whole weekend, you'll easily be looking at spending over £1000. I had been offered somewhere to stay for the weekend, so hopefully it won't cost that much! I'd best check that offer is still open though.. marbleapple
I had a superb time last year. It was the first car show that i had been to and was blown away by it all. Very organised, you get up close and personal with all the cars and some of the cars I had never seen in the flesh before. My one big tip is to buy the ticket that allows you to sit in the stands. Its worth it because all the stands are in the best positions, you always get a seat and the cars on the track tend to showboat for the stands (F1 cars wheel spinning etc) The only reason why I am not going this year is because I will be on my honeymoon. I fully intend to go the year after though. Please see the thread I started about it when I returned home from it last year. Warning it is pic heavy: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=190775
DamanC
You can get cheaper tickets on ebay and sometimes 'the times' do a few thousand give aways.
stevie_b
The only reason why I am not going this year is because I will be on my honeymoon. I fully intend to go the year after though. Go for a mini-moon in Sussex: the missus'll love it. I agree that it's a great day out, although I remember it being somewhat less than £50. I remember Colin McRae's brother or son caning an Imprezza up the hill, veering off the track at a convenient point, doing a few doughnuts, then continuing on his way. Perfick! tooquicktostop
Worth every penny of £50, I love this venue and great day out with so many stars dotted about and some awesome cars
Wez
Its a great day out, I remember one year there was a 747 doing a display which was also impressive.
Gerry
Just have a look at who's going and let me know where else in the world you would get such a mix of greats from the past & present: Drivers & the cars they are driving: http://www.goodwood.co.uk/downloads/fos/2010-fos-whos-driving-what-junexls.pdf That's not including the celebs that you see there if you are into that. On a sunny day, Goodwood FOS and Revival meets are by far the best place to be anywhere in the world, and for less than a tank of fuel ! Going Sunday - really looking forward to it. Animal
I looked into going a couple of years ago, but it just worked out way too expensive for the two of us to go, what with tickets, hotel & petrol.
Dnk
Not on the same scale and with less celebrities but still a cracking show is the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, we've got a club stand there and have 10 drivers and their cars in for the weekend for free. If anyones stuck for something to do pop along, its on the 17th 18th July near Nantwich J16 M6 http://www.cpop.co.uk Edited June 28, 2010 by Dnk (see edit history)

EdMorris
This year there is a 'moving motor show' on the thursday. I'm gonna check that out instead, as I'm working on the weekend. If its a success, they are planning to turn the event into the proper British motor show.
