Guest El Cid
Nic, Will the TRD monoblock calipers (from the other brake thread) fit on US spec turbo brakes w/o any modification? I keep seeing "UK Spec" and have to wonder what is different about our cars (in relation to brakes). Also, does TRD make the rears in the same fashion, and is black the only available color? Thanks, Kev
Jake
maybe stock UK calibers with the Brembo OEM replacements would be a good idea? Personally I wouldn't bother. You won't do much better than the stock Toyota discs, performance-wise. Unless you want them just for looks of course. Somebody has some 'Brembo' disks for sale on this site at the moment, apparently they warped after 2000 miles of road use. Will the TRD monoblock calipers (from the other brake thread) fit on US spec turbo brakes w/o any modification? Yes, definitely. Also, does TRD make the rears in the same fashion, and is black the only available color? I don't know about TRD but the Toyota ones only come in black. Nic
Nic, Will the TRD monoblock calipers (from the other brake thread) fit on US spec turbo brakes w/o any modification? Yes I keep seeing "UK Spec" and have to wonder what is different about our cars (in relation to brakes). They are exactly the same as the brakes on the US cars AFAIK. It is just this is a UK website and the larger brakes were standard on the UK cars. They should be refered to as larger spec really, as they were actually also fitted on a lot of J-spec cars. Also, does TRD make the rears in the same fashion, and is black the only available color? TRD didn't make a rear brake kit. No other colours available. Nic
We've got 5 sets so far and possibly another 2 to be confirmed, so only a few more to go. If you want to be included please add your name ASAP.

Cheers Silverfox Hi SF Toyota did 2 different brake specs for the Supra: Smaller Brakes (found on most J-spec Supras) Fronts - 2 pot calipers/296mm discs Rears - 1 pot calipers/307mm discs Larger Brakes (standard on all export Supras and optional on some J-spec Supra.) Fronts - 4 pot calipers/323mm discs Rears - 2 pot calipers/324mm discs Your 2000 car may already have the larger spec brakes, can you post photos of your fronts and rears so I can see what you have fitted? chilli
I'd be interested in the fronts, a complete set with callipers and discs and and fitting parts... Think I may need spacers for the clearence though, anyone done the conversion already and know how much extra clearence you need between the calliper and wheel (depth wise, not diameter wise)? The group buy is closed now, but I can still get brakes at a good price if you want some. Do you know anyone with the larger spec brakes? Easiest way of checking is to try your wheels on a car with them already fitted. What wheels do you have, as there maybe someone else with the same wheels? chilli
Ok thanks Nic. Well the wheels are made by "equip" I think, they are not small. I think there is approximately a 5mm clearance (or maybe a tad more) currently. Would be great to find someone who could measure the clearence before and after to tell me how much extra is needed! I think Wayne (supradibbs) has uk spec brakes and lives locally, perhaps I'll give him a shout then... what is the final price for a front set? £478? Heyrick
Hi, I *may* be interested in a set of uk fronts as well - depending on price.
