Ford Escort RS Turbo

It is severely over priced BUT on the other hand you probably wont find one near that condition again, i reckon someone with alot of money and is ford mad wont think twice about it!

Before getting the Supra I was all Ford, with owning XR2's RS Turbo S2's and a 2WD Cosworth. A mint restored RS Turbo S1 go for around 7-10k easily and classic Fords have been going up in price steeply over the last two odd years. Before getting the Supe in January I was looking at Cossies again or an S1.

Is this car worth the price? I would say yes... to someone with lots of cash where money is no object. 17k miles from new on a 25 year old S1 in showroom condition is only going to appriciate in price. For that money it would be an investment/show car only and really never be driven, so this puts the car in the collectors market. Is it overpriced for THE BEST S1 out there?? not really but like Rob Boi states youve got to be a Ford nut to part with that type of money.

The guy in this thread I posted in January http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=206694&highlight=bonkers is someone who is likely to buy this car

It would be the same if a Uk TT6 Black became available, I doubt any of us would turn the chance of that down, it would be who'd be paying the highest, my guess it would go for the same price there or abouts as the escort!

Wow very good condtion but 19K no chance, A friend of mine has a G reg rs turbo he has gutted it. everything is new, Full respray in orginal dimond white, fully stock car. engine rebuild all done last year.

He is looking at selling it and is going to put it up for £8000. In my eyes it is just as good condtion as this one on ebay but a fraction of the price. :)

I think its a little more than that :p

Kids still love it, still get nice comments by people walking by the house, they still make toys/models of it - its a bit of a cult car because of the movies.

I know I have owned 6 :D

I have been the deluded one in the past paying 20K for one :D

Great cars but getting old, they will become a classic one day for sure, then the price will climb

My C4 Corvette will do the same I hope, but it is truly rare on the UK roads and I like that :)

LOL I'm not worried, everyone has an opinion and know I he's had Supras a plenty :D I have no intention to sell mine any time soon. :)

See, good point about the Vette, over here I might agree with ya, but if in the US you'd be laughed at as they're ten a penny like the Mustang.

Very very true, in fact the C4 in the US is so common its disliked ! :D

I would love another Supra BTW, it would have to be a single manual though in black and they are rare

Dean.. yeah my uncle had Vettes through working at Chevrolet, the C5 was loved way more than the C4, and I think even the C6 is a bigger hit now... but over here its a different kettle of fish, there are those who just want a bit of US muscle for fun and it'll always have a market there.

Princess Di had one didnt she, I hope you're not meaning her Hadyn ;)
