Supra Pilot
Excellant then, as I see you are in the right business of re-finishing cars..... So this is perfect for you! So we will be expecting a cracker when you are all done:thumbs:
Rob
As an aside, don't you just love those adverts in Auto Trader, in the crashed section when they say, "perfect condition before accident" like that counts for something now!
recoil
dudersvr: This may sound like a cheeky question, but I've seen a Supra for sale with similar damage to yours and I'm wondering what's the going rate??? Cheers.
Adam_SG
The funny thing is that crashed repaired cars in Japan are very cheap, and they've already been repaired so the jobs done for you. And crashed non repaired cars are even cheaper.
recoil
Apparently the yard where the Supra is like to ask silly prices so I'm just trying to get a rough estimate really. Wouldn't mind a very cheap crash repair job from Japan tho
dude
Recoil do you mean whats the going rate for a sup with similar damage or the going rate to repair one with similar damage to mine , if you mean to repair one i would say £800-£1000 + parts inc. paint and laquer , but bear in mind its gonna get painted upto the back wings , if you dont know what your looking at be very carefull they are a total loss for a reason , there is normally hidden damage , i was lucky mine was hit very high (in the headlights ) so there is no chassis damage , but ive still had to buy a slam panel (weld in) bonnet, 2 headlights and a nosecone , i could repair the wing but seeing as they are only £130 i will prob buy a new one , of course when you get one like mine it would be criminal to put it back to standard s its a good exscuse for fancy nose/bonnet FMIC etc , and you can tell the wife the trick bits are cheaper than the standard ones . recoil
heh cool. Cheers for that info, but I was really interested in the price of the actual car. The one I've looked at was hit quite high too, it's got 2 smashed headlights, bonnet, wing and needs new slam panel like yours. I think it's a bit worse than yours tho. Need4Speed
Is that £130 for a wing a Toyota price, or where do you get panels at that sort of price? (got a little damage)
Mark Kindell
I'm just looking around at the moment for a damaged mkiv. I did see one for sale in Japan for £6000 but it must have had £20,000 worth of engine mods on it i was going ot bring it over and just take the lump and turbo ecu ect out of it but i wasn't fast enough However i have seen another 97 tt with light front damage for sale for £1200 so aprox £2000 by the time its over here so i might buy that one ? (got a little damage) They're 137+vat from Toyota. Always check for new prices at the dealer , they are very reasonable on some stuff... eg headlamps 123 +vat When I was getting panels for mine you could even get a bumper for a couple of hundred or so ...... can't remember which colour it was , but prices varied depending on the colour for some reason Its worth getting hold of the EPCD , so you can arm yourself with the part numbers... they're available to download out there in the ether somewhere , try a search
