Anybody work in the industry or have any good sites (that will still be around).

 

I'm after 2 adult returns to orlando (specifically KSC) to watch a shuttle launch in July, specifically July 29th. However with the uncertainty of launches I'd want to stay for roughly a week (still risky but I doubt I could stretch it further)

 

So I'd guess Arrive July 28th and leave 6/7/8 August.

 

Anybody else possibly fancy it?

we managed to get a week in magaluf (just a slight difference to what your looking for ) for a mates stag week for £183 per person.

Go for the seat of the pants approach I'd say, especially at the anti-social flight hours with any carrier.

 

Not transatlantic but in Europe I have checked a couple of times when flying for business the cost of the flights when checkin just about to close. Work paid £550 for a return flight, curiously asked at the desk what the cost of a one-way out be before I checked in. £1.

 

 

So if you're flexible I'd go try that chap. Will check transatlantic prices next time I fly too if I can get any info

 

Surely to go for the true redneck experience you should hire a winnebago (forgive the spelling)? And then sit on it's roof drinking beer as close to the launch site as you can?

 

Maybe even say to the locals the other night you had an encounter and got 'probed'

Me neither really... but there are only 3 launches left and it is a lifetime thing for me so after a long year up to now I'm making it happen.

I watched a shuttle launch in 2004 I think, could have been 05, would have to check passport. Didn't go out specifically for that but was in the region anyway. First time I was at the space centre was in 93

When I was flying to Hong Kong the few times last year, I used http://www.flightcentre.co.uk, and they did seem to find the best prices for me.

 

It would be worth looking periodically up until a month before you want to go, as they have really good deals on flights, etc.
