Guest George89
I when out last night with a few friends to test the cars out and i drive a supra NA auto so i have a few things to point out to na owners or anyone who is planning to buy a supra na Supra NA Auto VS Honda Integra DC2 Type R. Off the line the supra wins all day long up to 2nd gear (100KM) then integra gains and pulls a lead The exact same with 2 more DC2 type r. Supra NA Auto VS Honda Civic Type r EP3 Off the line supra na wins again but haven't yet tryed over 100km. Supra VS integra DC5 Type r Off the line almost same. 2nd gear is neck and neck after when intergra gets in to 3rd he gains quite a big lead. So overall summary the NA can out accelerate most cars in similar bhp (FWD) range but after 100km it can't hold on. But am sure a manual would be a diffrent story

Guest George89
I forgot to add if i had a double decat am sure i would beaten the DC2 type r as it only manages to overtake very slowly i just needed a bit extra power maybe 10 bhp. but of the line supra wins by quite a lot! Smallshinyant
thats interesting. I would of thought my na would of been better in the 100Kmh + as it does always seem to pull really well from 60Mph to 110Mph (on a runway). But going to drive with some TT's for the Sumo event at the weekend so will get to find out how much better they pull. Still, thanks for posting your findings

little num
If you had a double decat lol, if you had a twin turbo you would have blew them all away, If you wanna race there are plenty of tracks around your way. Its div's like you who give supra's the look
RobD
Thanks. My thoughts exactly Have you asked Dave how much he charges for a head lamp refurb yet?

Weight diffrence between DC2 and supra NA DC2 Type R = Weight 1160KG Supra NA = Weight 1481KG Plus i am running HKS air filter, HKS hi power silenced exhaust and light weight 17" alloys with standard size tyres

pezzler
I would have thought that the better bhp/tonne ratio, and manual gearbox would have given the Integra a better launch. Thought the Supra would have been playing catch up until about the 80mph mark Then other factors need to be applied: quality of tyres, quality of driver, and the possibilty that your Supra is'nt performing as well as it did 15 years ago Its easy to quote factory spec, but shi*ty "mods", poor maintenance, and general wear will probably see a few horses bolting - may be why your midrange is'nt as expected ....Anyway, this "racing" that seems to be so popular (basically driving in a straight line, in a supermarket car park or alongside a chav riddled bowling alley) is for c*cks
Gaz6002
Did anyone ask if the OP knows how to drive?
Guest George89
Just for your information it was on very safe roads with no public around. and some runs on M25. I am running brand new michelin pilot sport 2 tyres. I didn't wheel spin of the lights all the others wheel spin a bit. done a race with DC2 off the line 3 times and won all 3. I think why mine didn't do so well at top range is because of my intake filter i need to get it changed i will send a pic its got k&N piping with HKs filter which if anything is killing middle and top range power. But good at low rpm. and if they can drive i don't know lol but i definatly beat them all by far on launch
Guest George89
I will return back to stock air box with panel filter and see how that goes
nevins
Very safe roads, then you mention that you were racing on the m25, They are public roads and a serious stretch of motorway.

Try going on it at 1am on a weekday, you would be lucky to see 1 car every few minutes
nevins
Try going on it at 1am on a weekday, you would be lucky to see 1 car every few minutes So this justifies racing on there, If you want to race your car and get legit data take it to a drag strip, its legal and alot safer than racing on public roads. MattP
lol you can bet that anyone that bitchs it wasnt safe probably are the people who speed themselves.
Guest George89
to be honest why do you drive a supra have you never broken the speed limit in a supra? if you haven't buy yourself a ford escort diesel or something
nevins
to be honest why do you drive a supra have you never broken the speed limit in a supra? if you haven't buy yourself a ford escort diesel or something Or drive respectably and attend track days. Just because you drive a supra does not mean you drive like a complete twat. Do you wear a baseball cap by any chance and drive round with your music turned up ridiculously loud. And obviously i know if i had a twin turbo but i aint talking about the turbo here am talking about the NA Where did these awesome tests take place? Race tracks or car parks/city streets? Also rear wheel drive vs front wheel, rear gets a better launch every time. Theres your advantage
Guest George89
Or drive respectably and attend track days. Just because you drive a supra does not mean you drive like a complete $#@!. Do you wear a baseball cap by any chance and drive round with your music turned up ridiculously loud. Too be honest no never and don't get the wrong idea that i speed like a idiot 24/7 everynow and then i like to push the car if i don't whats the point in having one. We all know we been over 100mph on public roads (motorways) so no point in having a go at someone else. This is a forum for supra lovers and we love supras because of their looks and performance this aint a police forum that we can't go 71mph on a m25
