Class One
I own the back border and the border to the right. There isn't a general rule, your deeds will be able to clarify which borders you are responsible for.
Ewen
It varies I'm afraid. But it should be clearly marked on your title deeds...'T's should be marked on the boundary lines, the leg of the 'T' on your side indicates a boundary thats yours. Westcoaster
Check your deeds, fences only indicate the boundary. Strictly speaking he divisional wall or fence should be a shared responsibility between the two parties. If the fence lies entirely within the boundaries of your own property, then it is your fence and your sole responsibility. Incidentaly, if a fence is entirely within your own boundaries, you can choose which side of the fence to see, the inside or the outside! dangerous brain
The underside of a fence is owned by Baby Jesus. Fact. I thought it was the Aussies owned that bit?
Ricky49
It will be shown in your deeds when you bought the house. I own the back and right.
marbleapple
Look on the land registry maps. Its the ones with the 'T' on (I think). The usual rule of thumb is also to look on who's side the fence posts are on. If they are on yours its usually because they are your responsibility. If you are responsible for the boundary as marked on your deeds, then the boundary fence or wall is your responsibility unless it is wholly on your neighbours property (if it straddles the boundary and falls down, you have to fix it.) CJ
I have decided to run a sweep with my mates on Kos to see how many more answers we get that say the info is on the deeds. I've gone with 5.
