Hydraulic Lift Suspension

I was wondering whether anyone thought about fitting these (KW HLS coilies)to their Supras:

Do these compromise on handling? I mean on paper they seem to be far better than your standard air-ride kits with bags. If they are essentially coilovers then they should be a really useful piece of kit for those who have low ride heights on their cars but want the handling characteristics afforded by coilovers.

They do sound really bad when adjusting settings though.

Oh that quite reasonable considering the price of sourcing and fitting air-suspension is around $2000.

I just wondered whether these were good for handling though because there's no point having adjustable suspension if it compromises on cornering.

The inherate problem of a "Lift" kit is that you have to give up damper stroke travel in order to fit them.

This makes them quite selective as not all cars have enough "room" to fit the kit.

Also, most kit are not design to run in the fully expanded position, therefore it is only use to lift the car up to go over speed bumps and such.

I would say Air Springs would be a better idea, but it still have the same problem that it will lose damper storke in the low setting.

But modern air springs are design to be operational in the inflated form, so at least that give it more usage than the KW HLS.

When it comes down to performance, it is hard to beat a dual perch coilovers with linear rate springs as everything else is a bit of a compromise.
