Rob_Mitchell
im glad your hear nevins lol, tell me about it, my friend is coming over tonight and were going to try use a internet cable to it instead of wireless, it might update it that way
pistonbroke
I take it you bought the 360 wireless dongle and you're not just using a carphone warehouse jobby.? Also, are you plugging the dongle into the rear USB port on the 360. I don't think it works on the fronts. Try unplugging it, turning the power back on, then turning off, plug it back in and power up again.
bluecoup
erm you have pluged the wireless adapter into the xbox ?
nevins
if you hard wire it with a ethernet cable it is alot more reliable, it is how I run mine. Bonus being that you can get 10 metre length cables and no worry of a signal dropping. There is also a way to connect the 360 to your laptop and update this way. nevins
just out of interest have you done an initial setup with the adapter connected
pistonbroke
Erm, if you don't have a wireless N router, it won't work. You've bought the wireless N adapter for ultra high speed connections mainly used for streaming HD stuff. Wireless N is the latest fastest wireless, most people only have the older two types. nevins
try an initial setup again as this might then recognise it attached and also give you the option to connect to xbox live

Rob_Mitchell
Configure your wireless settings Connect your Xbox 360 console to your wireless network by following these steps: On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings. Select Network Settings. Select Configure Network. On the Basic Settings tab, select Wireless Mode. ***IM NOT GETTING THIS BIT*** Note If wireless mode is not available and you are using the black Wireless N Networking Adapter, try using the software installation disc included with the adapter.
