What do they put in sun protection sprays?

The sun came out today,it felt like spring may be round the corner, so I decided to give the M3 a bit of a valet. All was going well, until I unlocked the glove box, which had not been opened for months. I took out all the junk that was in there, stuff in my hand in to see if there was anything at the bottom. My hand came out covered in a really sticky gel, mixed with small black fibres. It ,was an absolute pig to get it off my skin. The unused and unopened sun spray had leaked, it had migrated in to the glove box lining and eaten away at the adhesive that holds the "flock" finish. It has the totally trashed the glove box.It has even eaten into the plastic of the box. It took half an 8 inch diameter paper towel roll, 4 pairs of latex gloves and 1/3 litre of white spirit to clean it out, leaving it totally wrecked. It is so bad I am going to have to replace the :swearsign:glove box. There is no way I am ever going to spray that stuff on my skin in the future.

I remember leaving a packet of jelly-based sweets in the glove box of a Primera I rented to drive around S.Africa, including Kalahari.

Cleaning the car out after 3 weeks to return, I was met with the sweetest smelling goo that resembled a liquidised alien foetus.

BTW- it is officially the 1st day of Spring today, so it SHOULD feel like Spring ;)
