hackin_n_bashin
Quick question, I've had the Hi-Spec monsters fitted to the front for a couple of months now. But have recently had new OE rear discs and EBC yellow stuff pads. Also have nearly new Yoko Advan Sports on the rear, and brand new Toyo ZZ3's on the front. Was out Saturday, on a nice dryish straight bit of road, having warmed the tires and brakes up beforehand, decided to see how the car behaved with the new setup. It stops lovely from most speeds, but from "high" speeds the back end locks up before the front. It does dive quite heavily, and stays on its nose. is there anything I can do to stop this? Although a decent set of coilovers are on my list, I didn't want to go too stiff as a lot of my driving is on poorly maintained country roads. Any suggestions? MrRalphMan
Not being an expert, but if you've moved the braking bias too much towards the front, which sounds like you have if the front dives heavily. Means that the weight distribution is getting too forard, making the back wheel light and prone to locking up. Are they still standard J-Spec brakes on the back? hackin_n_bashin
Yeah, still standard at the back, just new discs and yellow stuff pads. Didn't know if there was a way of adjusting bias, or just have to stiffen the front end to counter some of the dive. Front shocks seem ok. Others on here have the super monsters, but if they're using uk spec rears then I'd assume it would affect them more, unless the piston diameter is sufficient to equalize the bias again.
