One careful elderly owner ...

Seen this type of thing loads of times, when I used to work for Fords, an elderly guy came in with a burnt clutch on his brand new Escort. Fitted a new one, only to see him back a week later with the same thing. After the third clutch the workshop controller went out on a test drive with him. Turns out the silly old git thought the car was an auto so was driving everywhere in 4th.
