Class One
You'll need to see if your ecu has any error codes stored.

Yes it's the same light. First place to check when the lights comes on for no apparant reason. Quite sensitive the ol' fluid reservoir. Steve
Are you still using the Auto ECU? Don't you have to do something with the plug that went to the autobox?
RobAce
Are you still using the Auto ECU? Miguel
Start with the simplest things that you have disturbed recently, try the switch on the hand brake.

RobAce
Start with the simplest things that you have disturbed recently, try the switch on the hand brake. i did think that but the other warning light on the dash still goes out when u take the hand brake off , just leaves the triangle on
patrikbrunt
does the engine management light come on when you first turn the ignition on?
Miguel
Are your sure you haven't got any fault codes, Rob? Just check them anyway.
RobAce
the engine management light does come on with the ignition the goes out when u start the engine. I will check for fault codes.
Miguel
I will check for fault codes. As you have already mentioned, it may not throw up anything if there are no other lights partnering it (assuming all your warning bulbs work), but you never know. I would retrace my steps and check all the connections. Did you swap the clocks over to manual ones? Maybe swap them back as a test.
RobAce
ok checked fault code and it only came up 47 but new that. i did change the clocks for manual ones and so i thought the same as u and changed them back but it was still on. very frustrating considering car drives lovely
Miguel
Get hold of Matt, he may be able to spoil you with a theory he has come up with as to why your light is on. Edited March 12, 2010 by Miguel (see edit history)
