I haven't played either of the first 2 but I think I'll be getting that. Graphics look impressive! I think I'll download the demo over the weekend for a play.

You can get the GOW collection for about 20 now I think, you get the first 2 in HD worth a buy if you like them type of games.

Played the demo yesterday... It was OK. I've never played any of the other GoW games, but the inability to move the camera around yourself really annoyed me.

I reckon Dante's Inferno will beat this hands down personally.

To be honest the demo doesnt do it justice at all. Dantes inferno looks alrigt i'll probably invest after GOW.

The camera has never really been an issue in the other 2 games it's always given you the perfect perspective of everything going on around you

Is it necessary to play the first 2 titles? I really fancy the new one but don't want to have to fork out for the first 2.

No not really it's not a very story rich game anyways it's easy to follow. Best thing to do is watch this and it'l give you what you need to know to play the 3rd one...

I bought my PS3 for GOW3 and I played the demo a couple of nights back... I have to say it's a bit of a let down. It looks just like it did on the PS2 :( 'Next Gen' anyone?

I got Heavy Rain yesterday and got all ready to have a look at it last night. Unfortunately there was a 226mb patch for it, which took 3 hours to download. Then it took 10 minutes to install itself.

The PS3 is a piece of junk.

If it wasn't for GT5 I'd be selling mine and getting a Bluray player and an XBox with a bigger HD.

How you lot keep the faith is beyond me.

It's because as much as xbox owners protest, things are much the same for the xbox.

PS3 owners generally accept this.

It's not...

OK, you go to the PSN Store and select to download a demo.

XBox would go 'you want to download it?', you click 'yes' and it does it. The download happens quickly and it tells you when it's done.

PS3 says do you want to download it or add it to your basket. When it downloads it assumes you want to look at the progress bar, and sometimes it gives you the luxury of 'downloading in the background' (not for the inevitable game updates, mind). When you do tell it to 'download in the background' it does this 'preparing' thing - wtf is that? and then it goes.

If you play a game the download will pause, which is fine. If you use iPlayer it will continue...eating your bandwidth while iPlayer stutters along!?

I spend about half an hour last night going through the PS3 settings, and my router settings - and I'm at a complete loss as to why this is the only device on my network that takes 3 hours to download a 226mb file on my 8meg bb connection!? I have my XBox, my desktop PC, my work lappy, my gf's Mac, multiple phones and PSP's and they all fly when connected. I shut down *everything* in the house to ensure the PS3 has all of the bandwidth and it still crawls along...

I thought about trying a wired connection, but as it sits next to the XBox I can only assume that it has enough signal strength - it says it has 75% so that should be enough?!

Things couldn't be more different on the XBox... except to say I have sadly filled up my four year old HD.

ive said it before but i havent switched mine on 2 weeks after being one of the first people in the uk to get purely and simply because of gt5 and broken promises about its release....it must be well over 2 years

Slow downloads on the PS3 is the main thing xbox owners point out, while I agree with you that it's lame that some game updates don't let you download in the back ground, I know for a fact that game updates on the xbox can take just as long ;)

I'm not working for XBox here. They don't.

Slow downloads? I get 2 meg a second.

I thought the demo was good, I also enjoyed Dante's inferno, but like the X-Box 360, Dante is a cheap/cut down version trying to steal sales and the thunder from the real deal (GOW/PS3). Heck, even Heavenly sword back in 2006 was damn impressive graphically.

This is wrong. I have owned a 360 since launch and NEVER has an update of a game taken more than 10 seconds. If an xbox 360 game update takes as long as your standard PS3 game, then clearly someone's trying to get on Xbox Live from Somalia.

To get Super Street FIghter Turbo HD remix on the 360 took

Just yesterday I was playing RE5 with my cousin and the update took 15 mins.

The PS3 is completely inferior to the 360 in terms of online play in almost every respect: downloads, ease of use, the User Interface and the whole online community.

The PS3, imo, is a great console for Single player games (Uncharted, MGS, GOW etc) and as an entertainment device (Blu-ray, BBC I-player etc) but when it comes to online gaming it still lags behind by a considerable margin.

I can mention many instances where the PS3 has annoyed me online.

The 360 isn't without its problems though (understatement- RROD anyone?)

Is that with 'out of the box' config?

Do you think mine is faulty then?

Yes, I havent fiddled with the settings at all.

Dont know about you, but when I download demos and stuff it comes down the pipe as quick as anything on my pc.. I guess for new releases or big demos etc the speed could drop due to demand, but thats the same as any other service.

What I dont like on the PS3 is the web browser, for all the machines computing power I find that it is pretty lame.

Never played (or really payed attention to) GoW but read a few reviews and theyve been excellent so Ill be downloading later.

Are PS3 owners using cable or wireless to download? I always use cable on both consoles and the PS3 takes a considerable time more than the 360.

So who has bought god of war 3? I have only played the first 15 minutes and already it's better than 95%of anything else I have played everything just feels epic and the music is top drawer.

Final fantasy 13 will be put back in the drawer for a lil while longer, it's actually very boring up to now FF13 :(

I played the GOD3 demo yesterday after it took ages to download and install.

What's all the hype? I don't get it. You're just bashing buttons. It was ok I quess, but a title to drool over? It was basically prince of persia with more violence and less jumping.
