Attero
Hey mate. I'm 19 and own a supra. I'm not driving it but I'm preparing it for my 3rd NCB which is coming soon. With that I'm looking at quotes of £1400+. And I'm running an N/A. Its better to get an N/A I say for our age. Wait until 21.
Airwolf
ah thanks attero, that is appreciated. what insurace company are you getting those quotes from? good luck in jumping in that supra when u hit 3rd year ncb.
tomgeer
I can't believe you can get a low mileage tt for 4k now , I paid 9.5 for mine in 2007. I couldn't be bothered to read the entire thread but I suppose someones mentioned a uk supra is much cheaper to insure than a j-spec. Attero
ah thanks attero, that is appreciated. what insurace company are you getting those quotes from? good luck in jumping in that supra when u hit 3rd year ncb. Quotes from Admiral and Adrian Flux. Very good companies in my opinion. And it's always a good idea to phone the companies up for quotes as they can always turn around and say "sh1t, our system is wrong". They tend to bump up the prices on the phone a bit too unless they are having a nice day at the office. I originally wanted a TT Supra, but couldn't be assed to wait to get a hold of £8k+ (I won't go auto - makes me shiver). Intend on getting one next though. Btw.... members club. Abz
yeah ill join the members club lol, just hard to get ahold of cash in the bank account atm. so i will most likely have to wait till next month. If your struggle with £10 then to be completely honest a Supra might not be the best of cars to have. I hardly drive mine but at the weekend, though can easily spend £200 a month on fuel. Will you be servicing the car yourself? Using a specialist or getting someone you "know" to do it?
Airwolf
i am going to buy a supra maybe a few months but ill get there didnt see ur reply there abz im not struggling, just most of my money is cash and its a pain in the ass to get it back into the bank. especially atm. after all expenses (bills, food rent) i have about £500-£600 left over a month. car will be serviced and modified (if it gets to that stage) by someone i know. within J & N Developments (fella that did my type r conversion) gets me cheap everything. Attero
Oh, I thought it was 25 posts until you have to get membership. Any clearer idea on what you want or do you still have your mind set on the TT?
Airwolf
yeah still set on the TT, preferebly manual but they are more expensive. so if i had a good mileaged supra for £6.5k TT manual. thats a bonus. if it was a TT auto. perfect. Attero
£6.5k for a TT Manual... you'll be lucky. Very lucky. TT Manuals normally start at £8k if you don't want any hassle.
