The Raven
Well i have had a great day today! I was waiting for a hospital date to remove a wisdom tooth i cracked clean in half before xmas. I had been repaired a few times and until 2 days was fine. It started hurting so i went to the dentist today thinking he would temp fix it again pending the hospital. Only this time he asks if i want it out. I was shitting myself when i agreed. Needless to say it hurts like hell. Feels like someone has smashed me in the face, jaw is hurting from the ear to the front. Will this pain ever stop? To make matters worse i have two lofts booked in tomorrow

gavin.starr
Bugger im going under on monday to have two two problematic wisdoms removed on my lower jaw, my dentist told me that they may have to remove some bone to get in to remove one of them, or take the tooth in front out to do so. not looking forward to waking up with pure pain, my dad had to have his removed at my age and said they had to dislocate his jaw to gain better access. Bugger me for being so wise

jon5698
All 4 of mine are just about through, but luckily it is only the top one that has smashed and needs to be removed.

Guest johnwd
ive had 1 out wasnt too bad as he took less then 8 secs to remove the tooth but the down side was he give me 3 injections 2 in the gum and 1 in the top of my mouth and he didnt stop pushing when it went in the flesh he only stopped when it couldnt go in any more needless to say the other side needs pulling but ill take the pain for a while longer
probrox
I had a tooth out a couple of weeks ago after it had broken off at gum level. Because of that they couldn't grip it with pliers, they chose instead to break it into pieces and lever it out with a pointy screwdriver looking thing. It came out in about 15 pieces and took about an hour. I was never scared of going to the dentist until then.
The-Plethora
In the grand evolution of things human teeth are a bit, well, crap really aren't they? For me it wasn't really the after pain as really it wasn't so bad, it was the horrific *crack* they made when he extracted them that resonated throughout your head! AlexM
I had my consultation this morning, I'm going to have general anaesthetic and all 4 will be removed (the bottom two may require bone removing). I can expect to look like a hamster for several days, may have pins and needles in my lip and tongue for an unspecified time, and can expect quite a lot of pain for 3-5 days. I have 6 weeks to look forward to it. Good luck Gavin.
gavin.starr
Why oh why did you have to tell me that, just as i got myself g'd up for it im now bricking it again Ah well s**t happens i usually have quite a high pain barrier, but it looks like im going to be on liquids for a week or two as im sure i wont be able to chomp anything. My gf is coming with me so no doubt she will be taking pics, so ill try and upload some of me looking like a hamster Gav
Septic
Argh man I feel for you. On the plus side, you're supposed to be eating ice cream to help sooth the pain aren't you?
gavin.starr
my dad ate some baked beans when he had his done and found one left in the cavity about 3 days later when he got some feeling back. i think i may stay away from cold things as it could have the potential of really hurting, body temp liquids is what i think im going to go for and play it safe for a few days.
