GLENN STONEHAM
I am looking to buy a 10ish yr old Ford KA for my 18yr old daughter as her first car. I have seen some cat D repaired cars and wonder if the fact that they have been recorded/repaired has any affect on the insurance for her. ie,increased premium or engineers report needed. Because of the limited value of an older car of this type often only very minor damage is sufficient to have a cat D classification by the previous ins. co. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this situation?
RobSheffield
IIRC Cat D doesnt require an engineers report. As for the premium, perhaps have a look on something like confused.com with 2 car reg numbers. a non cat D and a similar cat D and see what you get
CJ
Have a word with the Sky Insurance people on the forum. They are bound to be able to give you confirmed advice.
