The day the immigrants left...

Yeah but why?

If they are such a hard working nation and we are such a bunch of lazy b*stards then why is (or was) our country so much better to live in ? they don't come here for the climate :D

Be thankful to them as they are paying for our pensions and our continued welfare state; without them we'd be no better than a desert in Africa due to the incompetence of the indiginous population

I have worked in construction all my life. i have and do manage workers from all over the world.

I have gangs of british guys that leave polish workers behind at carpentry, steelfixing and labouring.

But on the other hand and different contracts i have had polish workers leave brithish workers behind, although never in carpentry.

that programe showed a biased view IMO

we do need to get our dole scrounging people back to work though, but this spineless government seem not to want to do anything about it, come voting day i can see ukip and bnp getting a lot more seats:( because people are starting to believe its all the immigrants fault that this country is close to going on its knees when it is clearly laziness and bad government objectives

I reckon we should do a swap!! Come to the country, choose a job then point out the jobshy drain on society we have here that would be doing that job instead of bludgeing off the state and we can deport that oxygen thief off to the country the asylum seeker came in from. We'd be saving someone from a horrible fate in their country and as the jobshy type hasn't got a price on his head and is probably too stupid to have an opinion anyway shouldn't get one :D 1 in 1 out, in fact some weeks we could do a special offer and we'll give you 2 for the price of 1 :p

I actually find that to be one of the most offensive things I've ever read on here. I'm normally quite easy going but you've just criticised, well, me for a start. And my family. And my friends.

So in a nutshell, go fuck yourself, you racist.

That's incorrect. The documentary was biased to an extent and I don't think its fair to make sweeping statements regarding immigration. Whilst immigration does have its benefits, it doesn't mean the country is completely reliant on immigrants.

We've grown to rely on immigrants to work in certain sectors and yes, if they left all of a sudden that could cause chaos on a certain level. Over time however, society would re-adjust itself.

The majority of the immigrants do the labour-intensive jobs many people aren't prepared to do. They cannot however, carry out other key services (those not educated or qualified under HSMP etc) that require professional qualifications e.g bankers, legal services, architects etc. Its the advanced level of these latter services that enable England to be a developed country as opposed to a developing one that is, as you say, a desert in Africa.

Ive had many people work for me over the years, mostly they are always good workers for the first few weeks but then get lazy and i mostly get rid of them.

Ive only ever had one Polish guy, he started 6 years ago and has worked hard everyday since, in that time i dont ever remember him complaining about anything, he has respect.

I agree. What a scandalous post! And, knowing the poster, if anyone had dared post anything like that and directed it against other parts of society which he normally seems so intent on defending, I am sure he would have been the first to vent his anger too.

Lol CJ, ironically, I've noticed in the short while I've been here, that you have a tendency to be really quick on the offensive as well regarding a "particular part of the society". I hope its not xenophobia :p

Oh cool. Another Jurgen then :p

Would you care to back that up with fact and substance? If not then an apology would be welcomed.

Seriously? Have you forgotten the other threads that both of US discussed? The 'afterlife' thread, the Israeli assassination thread and this.

I'm not insinuating that you're a xenophobe- i just find it funny that you seem to adopt a particular stance when dealing with certain members/topic discussed.

Regarding your recent edit:

I apologise if you've taken my point out of context but I don't think you understood what I meant. I'm not at all stating that you are a racist or make racist comments. Your views seem to have the conflict approach regarding certain beliefs and that isn't a criticism at all. CJ, you misunderstand the point I make.

And to clarify, I wholly disagree with Imi's point, as can be observed from my earlier post.

Again, I would ask you to quote a particular instance whereby I had posted any racist and / or xenophobic content.

If, as you say I adopt a particular stance against certain members or topics, then that is tantamount to calling me either a racist or a bully and that is not acceptable.

How is adopting a particular stance about certain topics or members equivalent to you being racist? Even though I don't know you, I sincerely, hand on my heart, don't think you are a racist at all CJ.

I apologise if it sounded like that- I guess my thoughts translated via text on the internet have inevitably made you assume that I was making a particular point.

I have friends and acquaintances that have a COMPLETE OPPOSITE stance on my beliefs/culture etc. I would not call them racists.

I hope I've cleared up any misunderstandings CJ. I'm sure that if we were having this debate in person, and I made the above point informally, you would just laugh it off.

[EDIT] THat xenophobe comment was a joke btw! I incorrectly assumed that the smiley would make that clear

I assume you are thinking of the posts I made whereby I asked the Muslim members to clarify Islam's stance on marriages between men and children as young as 10 years old.

To be frank, if that upset you or any member of the forum who follow Islam then tough. To my mind it was a legitimate question and one I would have directed to members of any other faith that had some of its followers practising paedophilia.

That and your comment about how imi and I were so quick to make a point regarding the Israeli intelligence operation.

CJ you didn't upset me with that comment. Of course I understand your enquiry about the aforementioned topic. I had to make the same enquiries as well! I need to clairfy, I don't come from a practising muslim family. My mum was born here and half her family is American (as in white Americans). Only very recently have I become a practising muslim- I'm still always debating/considering/ analysing.

I really shouldn't have made that xenophobe comment. I'm an idiot. :hang:

Please bear in mind that it was just a joke. It just always seem likes its a case of imi vs you and I was just picking up on that. I didn't mean anything by it. Apologies if you thought I was labelling you as a racist. You crazy old man!!! (joke!!)

:( No hug eh? Fine

In all seriousness- I take back what I say. You're cool CJ:cool:

Hey, let's get back to slating lazy stars of documentary I mentioned in 1st post! :D

No offence to anyone- but the guy working in the restaurant trying to pronounce the Indian dishes...ahahhahahah! So funny. Its our equivalent of watching that Indian guy in Johnny 5 say "JOHNNY FIVE!"
