Those tyres will give you a bit of a lip protecting the wheels a little more i think. As far as rubbing I would have thought against the arches will be ok as you are having them rolled but may catch the trim on full lock. The lock will be less though and I guess tramlining would be worse I would imagine. I think a couple of peaple are running 255's upfront though who can advise far better.

255 is what Works advise too.

 

How bout 255 /35 and 285/30

 

The differance from o/e wheel and tyre diameters assuming o/e sizes are as below to the sizes you state above is an 18mm increase on both front and rear

 

235 x 45 x 17 diameter = 643 mm

255 x 40 x 17 diameter = 636 mm

 

255 x 35 x 19 diameter = 661 mm

285 x 30 x 19 diameter = 654 mm
