gavin.starr
I think my suspension bushes have had it. When im driving it feels like im towing a trailor, and when i go over bumps it just feels really wrong, allmost like im driving on flat tyres but they are all ok. Is there a way or replacing them with standard ones or is there no such thing, or is my best option to buy powerflex bushes and knock the old ones out of the arms and replace them. Ive read a few articles saying that they are pretty hard to get out even with the use of presses, is there a walk through any where on here where i can have a good read up on what i may have to do. The other things i want to check before i go ahead and buy bushes that i may or may not need is, to check that the rear subframe is attached and torqued up correctly, and that the ball joints arnt buggered which means i would have to buy the whole arm with the bushes attached. Is there a good technique to check these before a spend a fortune correcting the problem. Many thanks Gavin
caseys
You can buy all the arms - Ian C this and stated it transformed the car, it's a nice and probably best option for OEM setup, but it comes at a cost of circa £2k iirc (that's front + back) You can buy a full polybush kit but you will have to burn out the old bushes from experience of others. Miko_Supra on here refurbs arms, you can send him some and get them done with polybushes, looks like he does a good job. Mean to get around to mine sometime! Sorry I'm not sure about a technique of how to check for wear though. I'd just advise putting it up on a ramp and see how much flex the wheel's got. On my old NA I must admit when I replaced the rear suspension arms it did make the car feel a heck of a lot more planted and firm under acceleration and corners with both throttle and no throttle.
