Andrew Dunk Shaw Posted November 21, 2002 Share Posted November 21, 2002 Trust me on this, if you push the go pedal hard enough in the wet even with the best wet weather tyres fitted, sooner or later your supras going to bite you. Ive put bigger wheels on mine (18x9 & 18x10) and my car handles great, less tyre roll in corners down to lower profile tyres. Yep, I had mine about a month before it let go on me - and it scared my sh1tless when it happened. It will happen. Even on an NA with stock suspension setup and without any mods. I got a wiggle on once when on mud coming out of a minor bend when accelerating, and now I drive like a granny - single width country lanes coated in wet mud - not so much fun! Terminator Posted November 22, 2002 Share Posted November 22, 2002 I have been driving the MKIIV quite a bit in the rain with RLTC and have got used to the enhanced grip capabilities. Took one of my other cars out last night 200bhp RWD no TC, I was spinning the rears up in a straight line in 3rd without really trying. Lots of sideways action round roundabouts and fishtailing from lights:D With 300+ if you push the MKIV it will step out. The back normally goes if you push too hard in the wet on the way out of corners. If you are unlucky it may go in a straight line if one wheel hits a low grip spot when under torque load. FaithStalker Posted November 22, 2002 Share Posted November 22, 2002 in the first few months of getting mine last year in heavy rain the rear stepped out in a straight line when going over a pedestrian crossing, sh** loada opposite lock and dump the car in neutral and all was ok, although it may have been the Granny that was crossing that got stuck in the rear wheel though that caused it. to be honest i have not had it step out that much since then, but i dont push it in corners or push it at all in the wet. *touch wood* *rubs lucky rabbits foot* *says a pray to all major gods* Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
