imi
The MKIV Supra also featured a four-sensor four-channel track tuned ABS system with yaw control whereby each caliper is sensored and the brakes are controlled individually according to the speed, angle, and pitch of the approaching corner. This unique Formula One inspired braking system allowed the Supra Turbo to record a 70 mph (110 km/h) -0 braking distance of 149 feet (45 m) [2], the best braking performance of any production car tested in 1997 by Car and Driver magazine. This record was finally broken in 2004 by 3 feet (0.91 m) by a Porsche Carrera GT. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra Impressive..... Question: Do aftermarket brake setups still take advantage of this technology?
TLicense
Yes. It's just ABS, so changing the caliper, pads or discs won't make any noticeable difference to how the system fundamentally works.
RobSheffield
Is the yaw control on the JDM or just the UK? Not sure i would be trusting Wikipedia...

RobSheffield
Seems odd UK spec brakes have no wires to the caliper then if that article is to be believed 'yaw sensors in the caliper' Both the UK spec ABS and TC systems are different to the JDM. TLicense
There is a single accelerometer under the centre console (just under the little storage compartment) that is linked to the ABS, that's all. The calipers don't have amy sensors attached to them, but obviously each wheel has it's own speed sensor. It's nothing particularly trick, and I think the reference to being F1 inspired can be said about every ABS system as I believe that's where it was originally designed for. Chris Wilson
The Bosch Motorsport ABS system available as a complete kit is supposed to be very good, everyone I know who has used it raves about it. The Skyline ABS set up is superb, too. Never really noticed any difference in ABS behaviour between UK and J-Spec systems, although the UK one is more sophisticated.
