Guest gothy
hey guy's, I love the look of the mkiv supra, but what are the earlier ones like? . same engine's? . bodyshape? . cult following? Cant say I've ever seen another earlier model, and this was the best place to ask, since you all know about supra's.
Ewen
No offence intended, but google is really good at this sort of stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Supra

Awisto
UK MK3 available with the 7M-GE and 7M-GTE, 3 litre straight six, turbo model is single turbo, official figure of turbo 234BHP both blow head gaskets for fun. Lucky to find a UK model with no tin worm. Best of the bunch, JDM model with the 1JZ-GTE

JSeaman
If you check out my 'guides' section in 'archive' off mkiiisupra.net I've given details of the various models but the most common are indeed the 7MGE and 7MGTE with a fair few 1GGTE and 1JZGTE kicking around too I've got my fifth mk3 at the mo which is a 1JZ,4 previous were 7MGTEs. Great cars boats loads of torque, cheap as chips but too heavy to be a 'sports car'. Great GT though and all the luxuries you'd need like leather, cruise control,A/C etc 232bhp and 254 ft/lb by the way
Guest gothy
cool, have you got any pics? Im just after something sporty for the weekend if its raining and I cant take the bike out. Jay_vr6
JSeaman is the man for the mk3, when I had mine i was never so glad to have all his many many guides on fixing the damn things!!!!! Mk3 can't be beaten for comfort and you can actually get a couple of peeps in the back My old 7mgte http://www.forcerecon.freeola.net/supra2.jpg
JSeaman
You're too kind Jay What pictures do you want, I'm sure I've got pretty much everything somewhere - the guides have most stuff you'll need, see the buyer's guide too - that tells you all I could think of about buying them It's a great car for the money but be prepared for a bit of DIY mechanics from time to time. Great as a second car and you'll struggle to find something to match it in the price range
