Guest KernalRob
Hi All Newbie here! Replaced the gear box oil today on my manual 5 speed N/A! Drained the old oil out which looked the same as used engine oil as expected. Filled the gear box with new 75W 90 oil approx 2.4L. Started the supra and ran for 5 minutes. Then unscrewed the filler plug to the box and found white frothy oil coming out of the filller plug hole. Is it normal for the oil to go white and fronthy as i've never changed gear box oil and before the change, the drained oil looked nothing like this! nigelboyne
the gear box oil shouldn have looked like old engine oil. it was prob way overdue a change i find engine coolant and gear box oil generally gets overlooked by garages.i would drive it for couple k and then change it again you could use a gear box flush.
