George Galloway - visit to the US

Uptill now, there has been no reason NOT to trust Galloway.

I do admire the fact that he is NOT scared of speaking his mind to ANYONE and the fact that he says it how he sees it. I respect him for that.

Mind you..I havent studied the life of Goerge Galloway...so cant say for sure whether he is whiter than white....equally..i cant say hes not..

Compared to other politicians out there who pussy foot around issues that matter...he gets my vote anyday.

Agreed, he can really talk, especially now, after withdrawing his tongue from Saddams arse!

Unlike some yanks who are still licking his arse as we speak.....

What about those who actually sold him the weapons in the first place only to paint him as a criminal later on and eradicate him.....(Donald Rums comes to mind straight away)

What ever happened to Saddam....its all gone so quiet....?

He's probably sipping coffee and banging some intern in the oval office as we speak... :read:

One other question...

The US Senate didnt even Sapina (spelling) for George Galloway's presence, yet he turns up.

Have WE got the power to Sapina an AMERICAN Senator / Minister, etc to a British Court?

He went there on his own accord. We can do the same like many other countries, whether you go is your decision in the main.

I wouldnt trust him or them as far as I could throw them.

I agree, it is all smoke and mirrors from both sides...

I met him yesterday, he was @ Euston....Great speaker, very charasmatic and a genuine good bloke.

That is most likely the only reason he is in office right now. Does the term 'Used car salesman' mean anything to you. Some have the gift of the gab. He clearly does because I cannot for the life of me figure out why he is still in office.

Also IMI to say you respect him for speaking his mind and standing up for his dodgy dealings.

All he was doing was trying to save his own ass and his tarnished reputation. Woo hoo big time score there, he managed to lambast a few senators who know nothing of real debate (ala house of commons). Galloway is a real credit to the british....... I think not. :blahblah:

Good old George eh - good speaker and very charismatic (someone like that in the 1930's!)

So far up Saddams arse (with the French and the Russians ministers too BTW) then jumping on the typical 'oh we are so hard-done-by bandwagon' to get elected!!

SH = Murdering fecking bastard and whether for WOMD or regime change - I couldn't give a toss...good riddance! Well done Tony!

No smoke without fire m8...no smoke...

But then...just IMHO of course!

Gamer.

Sorry mate...we will have to agree to disagree there.

Tarnished resputation - I think not, they were all unfounded allegations based on heresay with NO FACTS being presented AT ALL. I you believe what you read in the Tabloids then you have yourself to blame. He simply CRUSHED all those allegations and shoved it up thier backsides.

The only incident that he accepted and regretted was the ONE encounter with Saddam.....he's only human, i dont see it as a big deal, after all Saddam was our allie until 1990, we supported, funded, supplied him with weapons, training, etc.

Regarding your comment on a FEW SENATORS .....uhhh HELLO...

THIS IS THE US SENATE...the Top Dogs of the US, highly literate, educated and influential & powerful people.

To crush them like the way he did is a Testimant to

- How Good he is (calm, composed, eloquent, profound, literate, charasmatic most of all, common sense) - unlike the song "like the way you move" :D

- How well prepared he was,

- How unfounded their allegations were,

- And how unprepared they were.

Question should be, well why were they unprepared....the answer is, until now they have been surrounded by yes men, they have done WHATEVER they have pleased and didnt expect to be challenged by ANYONE especially not from a British MP (since Tony's been up their arse for the past 4 years so why should any other Brit be different - surely they would find a suitable spot where the sun doesnt shine next to Tony)

Galloway is a real credit to the Brits (certainly the 2 Million who opposed the war) - He is also a real credit cause he is going to give Tony a HARD TIME....and that alone is good enough for me.

But like I said....we agree to disagree...thats our democratic right

So, he only ever met SH once?

Oh FFS, wake up will you. They represent money - no more, no less.

To my mind, he is yet another slimy, concescending politician fighting for his own survival. And, had he not voiced against the invasion of Iraq, I wonder if most sensible people would even give him the time of day.

Imi, as you are such a fan, enlighten me as to what great feats he has accomplished since beoming a member of parliament.

You probably won't be surprised to hear that TB has given the yanks the power to haul anyone in from over here for questioning on mere suspicion.

No burden of proof, no way out.

You will be even less surprised to hear that it only cuts one way.

So let me get this straight...

He simply CRUSHED all those allegations with some allegations of his own. :violin:

I totally agree with CJ about the Senate. Money = power, there are not there because they are just highly literate and educated.

The Senator who made the initial claim is from Utah for Christ sake. The only worry that they have there is wether or not to outlaw polygamy.

You need to find a better hero mate.

.

I wonder why he did that eh...?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s

and even more

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s

Oh sorry - I forgot he stands up for murdering, repressive, pathological genocidal maniacs! :thumbdown

CJ....as I have said before....can re-iterate...not a fan of his parties policies and dont know much about him and just to quote myself again "dont know whether he is whiter than white"

Regarding SD - according to him, it was TWO MEETINGS in total, the same number as Donald Rumsfeld (who actually sold him the weapons)

I am a FAN of how well he presented his case in front of the US SENATE with the global media breathing down his neck and he DEMONLISHED THEM. Great presenter, not afriad to speak his mind.

Regarding him voicing against the war, there is consistency in his opnion about the War against Iraq, the middle-east crisis, etc since DAY ONE....not as if he is jumping on the bandwagon like the Lib Dems.
