Why do wealthy people buy rare expensive cars to not drive them?

Ah! I work in our Chancery Lane Office next to Old Bailey Court but we have our Fleet Place Office which is closer to the Merrill Lynch Office, wonder if you ever seen my Supe driving into the office? Same story in Deloitte... in the Strand Office (They no longer have this office) I've got a picture of myself crouching down next to a Aston Martin DB9 with the numberplate ABZ on it :D

*May* have seen it. I have only seen the odd one every so often to be honest. There was a black one which used to go past on Fridays (veilside kit). But supras in the city are quite rare in office hours.

That and the 'keep it pristine' Japanese midset.

They love ferraris and lancias too (May be an italian thing?) - Most of the rare £££ Lancia Deltas and Stratos (£100k+) are in Japan.

The jap do have good taste.

Always perplexes me - it's a bit like having Kate Beckinsale at home in bed and having a chat with Lady Thumb and her four lovely daughters instead! No point!

If you had ten Kate Beckinsale clones, would you use all of them all the time, probably not, more likely just two;) and keep the rest for when when the other two wore out.:) There you have it you are a collector.

I think die cast models are a different kettle of fish though.

I have seen many diecast toy collections worth more than that Bugatti. I suspect they were better investments too. There have been quite a few articles of late advising people to invest in toys as opposed to shares since the value of them is shooting up.
