supra_aero
I have a question... Do genuine front bumpers (or kit parts in generally for that matter) still crack when hit by stones and low kerbs etc. The genuine supra bumper has a bit of a rubbery plastic give. So it won't crack so easily if at all generally speaking. Would a genuine Do luck front or top secret etc. have the same rubbery plastic give/feel? Or is it still brittle fibreglass like replicas and its the fitment you are paying for?
Luxluc
I had a genuine VS front bumper on my Supra before going for a TS front - replica. I did not see a big difference in material quality, the TS replica is even heavier than the VS was. But as you pointed out, fitment was way better on the genuine one. I had a small crack on the genuine VS when I had to pass a big bump ... so they aren't really what you can call flexible Luc
Guest SupraGTE
glass fibre will always be glassfibre, abs or the stuff some erebuni things are made of is a better option, would love that rieger would make a kit for supra in abs

Matt H
There is one aftermarket bumper made from plastic. I think it's the stillen, no match for the looks of the Do-luck in my opinion. But like said, a genuine won't hold up any better than a replica.

They'd be worth their weight in gold if they were more absorbent of hits and bumps like the standard supra bumper. Just planning my next project tx
Ian C
The Stillen is flexy urethane and looks better than any other aftermarket fibreglass bumper. After tapping a kerb
dr_jekyll
I have ofter been tempted to remove the bottom part of my vs2 bumper and see if i could get a copy vacume formed in a durable flexi plastic. But i dont know of anybody that could do it.
Tricky-Ricky
Fibreglass is good to a point, but hit it too hard or at high velocity it will crack, ABS is better for the same sort of thing, but once crushed, IE some tit reverses into you it can stay distorted, fibreglass is easy to repair ABS isn't, swings and roundabouts;)
trinitom
you can always go for something like this

Guest SupraGTE
the worst and most expensive bodykit i ever fitted was this fitted the 8pcs body kit and when i opened the exhaust box i was going to cry it was only 2 small 10inch end pieces(endpipes) , and need to cut the OE exhaust and slide the over http://www.vemiri.com/listing.php?cat=range_rover_sport and it cracked many places in a short time and brackets fell of etc etc 2 weeks later fitted the full ABT kit to Q7 to Janne ahonens Q7 and it fitted like a dream even with all overfenders it looked like a nightmare to fit ehen when opened the package, so even the most expensive can be a disapointment like tricky said both abs and glassfibre has it positive and negative sides

supra_aero
That material is perfect. I wonder if they do other jap bodykits. Really looks superb I am really suspicious... the kits aren't even expensive either http://www.duraflexbodykits.com/

marcAB10
being THAT flexable would it not be really easy to crack the paint?
Tricky-Ricky
being THAT flexable would it not be really easy to crack the paint? If you add plenty of flexi agent to the paint it should be fine.
