dr_jekyll
depends how determind you tyre fitter is . i have fitted a set or 205s on a 9.5 j rim. but i wouldnt reccomend it by any means it s awfull and if it was for a road going car i wouldnt have. go 245 minimum. i would stick with 255. nigelboyne
i found the 275 only just fill the wheels properly/ will go 315/35/17 next time on the standard rims
TTRickeh
Yeah I remember you saying from several other threads on the subject. Do you wear a size 19 shoe too?

pedrosixfour
i found the 275 only just fill the wheels properly/ will go 315/35/17 next time on the standard rims That'll be an experience, maybe even your last one! Can't imagine the rear end being very managable with that much rubber on that size rim. But don't let that stop ya, I hate stretched rubber. Thorin
315 on a 9.5 wheel is downright ridiculous. 275 is fine, but the widest I'd go too.

dr_jekyll
the max i would fit to a 9.5 would be a 285 anything more the tyre starts to mushroom and thats not good for grip
Wez
maybe it is as i said when they go on will take pics and see how they drive. or can anyone else including yourself speak from experience. Talking of experience, Toyo know a thing or two about tires and they permit rim sizes 10.5-12.5 for there 315/35/17 tires http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=products&product_id=18 Its also worth noting that the stock 9.5 rim size sits nicely on the permitted sizes for 255/40/17 which are 8.5-10.
pedrosixfour
Don't they have banter in your neck of the woods sunshine? So your arguement is this: 275 is better than 255 so it stands to reason that 315 will outperform 275. And you have the cheek to roll your eyes at ME?? Like I said carry on with the plan/hovercraft. SteveC
One more, what width is the smallest that will fit? Stick with the tyre manufacturer's recommendations. You'll find the info on the tyre manufacturer's own website. For a 9.5" rim, you're probably looking at 235 minimum and 275 maximum.
