Does 255/40/17 fit rear stock UK-wheels?

i found the 275 only just fill the wheels properly/ will go 315/35/17 next time on the standard rims

That'll be an experience, maybe even your last one!

Can't imagine the rear end being very managable with that much rubber on that size rim.

But don't let that stop ya, I hate stretched rubber.

will let you know what there like but somehow i think you have your mind made up if there terrible on the car i will be the first to say so. as said i find the 275 better on the rears then 255 but thats my view. 17/18 yrs ago i dont think toyota had the option of 275/40/17 the tire size didn exist. hope that helps you:rolleyes::rolleyes:

maybe it is as i said when they go on will take pics and see how they drive. or can anyone else including yourself speak from experience.

Talking of experience, Toyo know a thing or two about tires and they permit rim sizes 10.5-12.5 for there 315/35/17 tires :search:

http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=products&product_id=18

Its also worth noting that the stock 9.5 rim size sits nicely on the permitted sizes for 255/40/17 which are 8.5-10.0

One more, what width is the smallest that will fit?

Stick with the tyre manufacturer's recommendations. You'll find the info on the tyre manufacturer's own website.

For a 9.5" rim, you're probably looking at 235 minimum and 275 maximum.
