j1mb0b1 Posted February 16, 2010 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Hi all, I sold my faulty I phone in jan on ebay, I said in my advert that the phone was faulty and was in recovery mode and I could not get it working. I also say in the advert there are a few marks to the rear. but other than that the phone is in good condtion. So now 6 weeks he has come to me and asked for a refund because 1 he can not get it working and 2 he does not think the I phone was in good condtion, But in my add there are pics and at the bottom I put SOLD SPARES REPAIRS NO REFUND. So this guy has asked ebay to look over the case and give him a refund, I refused to give him a refund. Then next day Ebay give him a full refund !!! Any ideas what I can do about this ? Purity14 Posted February 16, 2010 Share Posted February 16, 2010 My issue that I am basing my facts on: Sold some equipment (through work) on ebay made out of hardened plastic "lexan", and it comes in a metal carry case. Buyer recieves it and tells us that the item is smashed to pieces. We asked about it being in the metal case stating its impossible, considering lexan is a tough material in the first place... and he said the case was not damaged?? We recieve it back and the case has no damage but the item is smashed up inside looked like someone had used a hammer to smash it lots of dents on the plastic in circular shapes and places where it looked like a chisel had been used. Even sending pictures of this and the PERFECT case that we sent AND recieved it with - the BUYER claimed it happened in transit - so was awarded a refund. It doesn't matter how overwhelming your evidence is, or how obvious it is that the buyer is pulling a scam, they always seem to rule in favour of the buyer. They're a bunch of thieving gits, and it's a shame that they effectively monopolise the online auction market. Best of luck with the appeal...
