paulfurn
Hi guys, Just a bit of advice really if possible In December my steering rack went, and needed replacing. The car (and hence the rack also) had just over 100k on the clock. I bought a 2nd hand replacement from a car that had 60k on the clock, and it was fitted last week. Last night, as I went to drive the car out of a parking lot the steering was EXTREMELY heavy. I suspected almost immediately that the rack had gone again (but strangely I have no fluid on the path at home, or the parking space ) EDIT: Having just had a look in the daylight, it appears that the hose which connects the resevoir to the rack (I think) appears to have come off. Hopefully panic over Edited February 13, 2010 by paulfurn (see edit history)
Jimmer
Had the same with mine, turned out to be the Pump. I believe it has a pressure controlling valve which becomes temperamental. Found the info on here somewhere. I think CW offers a recon pump on an exchange bassis.
paulfurn
Thanks for the info Jimmer Im taking to the local mechanic later who's going to whip off the undertray and try and re-attach the hose. Looks I'll have to contact CW re the pump too. Thanks again!
