spent the whole time looking around with wide eyes, and my mouth on the floor. i loved it :ecstatic:

the fountains outside the belargio (sp) are amazing, i did a helicpoter ride over the strip at night, wow the lights are fab, and i done a skydive at 13,000 feet it was wicked, the adrenaline rush is amazing.

i have so many photos and 3 hours worth of video to bore everyone with.

has anyone else been ??????

if not i highly recommend it one of the best holidays i have had lots of walking though.

just make sure you carry your passport round with you, i got asked id for fags twice and was asked to leave a casino cause i wasnt old enough to drink or gamble.................er hello im 27.................

did see a supra going down the strip a silver one so that was cool. hehehe

Sounds like you had a great time. I'd like to try the skydiving but I bet the helicoptor ride was a blast too!

We're also going to Las Vegas the weekend after next for my birthday. We are meeting up in Vegas with friends from Sydney, spending a few days there and stopping off in New York for a couple of days on the way back. Should be fun.

We had a most awesome USA trip a couple of years ago, the missus and I flew to Las Vegas, stayed there for 3 nights then got in our Mustang convertible and drove to LA, stayed there for a few nights and then drove up Route 1 with the top down

We stayed at Santa Monica, Santa Barbara and Monterey before spending 5 nights in San Francisco. Best time of our lives

But Las Vegas was SO special ! So clean for one thing, really enjoyed LV and will definitely be going again.

Been to Las Vegas about 7 times now. I love it and its converted Keith who wasn't keen on America. We're looking to go again this year, splitting the holiday between San Diego (which by the way has the most fantastic beaches!) and Vegas.

Glad you had a good holiday Clair - did you win much on the machines/tables?

If anybody ever needs information on Vegas, let me know. I've been there several times and know a lot of the in's and out's. Glad you had a good time. Just remember that Vegas is mostly tourists, there's a lot of scam artists, and Vegas isn't what real Americans are like. I only say that because if I'd only been to Vegas as a tourist, I'd have a pretty bad opinion of Americans.

Me and the missus are going to LA then vegas. then we are hopping over to toronto and driving down to NY. Anyone got any tips of what to do and where to stay?

Any reccommendations on which hotels/suites offer best value for money (3-4 stars)

For vegas, I was looking at the tuscany suites 2 blocks from the strip. Anyone stay in one of the mainstream hotels?

Other than shopping, is there much to do in LA.( not into the disney thang! )

I think we got Toronto (CN tower and undergrond shopping mall) Niagara ( some fancy river, or something ) and NY ( what do they have thats worth seeing then? )

You've got to stay in one of the big hotels on Strip (I've heard less than complimentary things said about some of the suites on the outskirts).

I have only ever stayed in the Luxor (3-4 star), but I can't fault it. Plus if you stay in the pyramid bit you get cool lifts which move diagonally!

was in LV a few years ago and had a great time

Stayed in Ballys with a view onto the Bellagio..my very own water feature!!!

Checked out all the expensive places....visited some free shows (theres one with some interesting cars for sale).

Did the Star Trek experience at the Hilton - that was brilliant!!

Went to the old part where James bond and any other big movie character have their car chases - the light and sound show on the overhead canopy is spectacular!!!

all you can eat buffets and roulette!!

highly recommended!! I will be back :ecstatic: :D

Agree with everyone else, Vegas is good fun and worth going if you haven't been before. I would definitely recommend staying at one of the big hotels on the strip, Ive stayed at the Hilton, Monte Carlo, New York New York and Mandalay Bay which was by far my favourite. Im thinking of going over in October for the 'Supras invade Las Vegas' meet for a weekend of partying gambling and supras, sounds like heaven :ecstatic:

I went there last year to get married - and we are going back in about 3 weeks time for 12 days (although that will include some desert forrays in a Hummer or '68 Camero)

Anyone got any more good hotel recommendations - I dont like tourists and I like a bit of class. :-)

Cheers

my gf works in San Francisco, so I have been to Las Vegas... great the way its open 24 hours - top buffets though very hard to get your moneys worth as I ate so much on the first trip for a plateful!

as for this:

San Diego (which by the way has the most fantastic beaches!) and Vegas.

I totally agree - I spend about a month or two in San Diego a year as I have rellies who live there (with good taste in cars.. M5 anyone? yes it does have indicators!)

we got married there too last March. haven't stopped thinking about going back since we returned. definitely the most awesome place i've ever been

we stayed in the Luxor (the breakfast buffets were my favourite!) and in the newer Hilton that is right on the Strip, called the Grand Vacations Club, where we had a honeymoon suite overlooking the Wet n Wild waterpark!

definitely enjoyed the following:

- dolphins at the Mirage hotel

- indoor skydiving in a huge wind tunnel!

- the finest steak in the world

- a meal in the revolving restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere & the rides on the top

- the Manahattan Express rollercoaster at hotel New York New York

October sounds like the time to go again for the Supra meet! maybe hulk hogan will be there too :O

We had our honeymoon there last June for two weeks. It`s amazing. We stayed in the Luxor and the breakfast was unbelievable.

We hired out a 300C and went out to the Hoover dam and had a weekend at the Grand Canyon. The most amazing place ever. In 2 years when i`ve paid the credit card off from last years trip we`ll definately go again!

Went and saw the David Copperfield show at the MGM which was awesome and spent a few hours watching the lions in their enclosure in the casino.

There`s a retail centre about 1/2 mile from the Mandalay Bay which is worth visiting to fill your suitcase full of cheap clothes.

I have been twice now for two weeks at a time. I love the place, its so hard to describe the size of the hotels to people who havent been.

First time i stayed in a place just off the strip, but the second time stayed in the Luxor.

I also thought the fountains of Bellagio were amazing, sat there for hours watching them.

Its not as expensive to go as some people may think. If i go again i shall book the hotel direct, have heard its even cheaper.

Very highly recommended

I loved it, but I despise flying  The place is truly gargantuan, what threw me first was the outside escalators

The brekkies were awesome, talk about setting you up for the day, but I had the 'lite' version of the coconut cream pie for afters lol

The Star trek experience is excellent, it's not cheesy at all, when you are in one of the actual corridors it's so damn real, and I never figured out how they did that teleporter trick :looney: Mmm, warp core breach - order one at the bar but bring friends ;)

I stayed in the Tropicana but it was just sort of a hotel, and the heating didn't work properly so it was boiling during the day and freezing at night

Can I recommend a quick trip to The Gun Store, 2900 East Tropicana :D :ecstatic: Pay a measly amount of cash and blaze away with anything from a pooty 9mm to a thunderous .44mag  :eyebrows:

Not me, but I had a mate who taught himself card-counting, and he went to Vegas to try out his new-found skills.

He said he made about 60% average profit on what he staked.

Total stake ....... roughly $25!! Oh well, can't retire just yet then!
