CJ
Experts recon, Experts don't recon (sic). The link you provided was a story about one doctor who has supposedly studied this for 6 years. Hardly expert and conclusive opinion eh? I just read this on another site: Christianity: The belief that some Jewish zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat of his flesh, drink of his blood, and telepathically tell him you except him as your master. He can then remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a sinful woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.....Yeah, that makes perfect sense! RedM
What is gods stance on us f**king up the planet we were given? I'd be pretty p*ssed if I had something that I created being ruined by the beings I put there. On a related note, why not populate other planets with people that can worship god? Surely god could have made other planets in our solar system habitable what with being the all-powerful creator and that. If god created the other planets then why make them so useless and far away? Bit crap at planning this god thing, isn't it?

You can kind of imagine god going "hey, I'm omnipotent and omniscient but it's just not enough". Greedy fecker.

Lbm
He doesn't need it, he wants it... He just wants his children to love him. An insecure deity? Marvellous. What would happen to his club if we decided not to buy his special membership fee? Would he shut up shop and try his luck in Alpha Centauri? Oh and you never answered my Haiti question The one where God talked to you and you didn't listen, but he forgot to talk to 200,000 Haitians? Please discuss why he singled you out, but not them? Jas
This is turned into a god debate. Problem i see with some of these questions and answers is that they are all from a christian standpoint. Ie the abrahamic (islam/jewish/christian) notion of god. There are many different notions of god (drawn from other cultures philosiphies and texts) - many of which would answer the questions posed but im sure raise others in there place. you cant prove the existance or in-existance of god - full stop. so its pointless having that debate (IMO) but it may be worth a seperate thread to present a more comrehensive list of what people believe about the nature of god (and what source those beliefs are derived/ why they belive this) - and then allow those to be 'picked over' and challanged individually.... ...i really need to get my supra back- the void its left is far to deep. Jamesy
This is turned into a god debate. . Exactly - its kinda veered off from the whole after life thing to actually a religion thing of what is best to believe in while your still alive!! Jas
i think we can naturally conclude this thread though. What happens when you die? F#ck Knows for sure! but were all going to find out... Lbm
This is turned into a god debate. Perhaps? But I'm keen to hear Alex's p.o.v given he stated his relationship with the big man. It is not about disproving god imho, but about expanding upon what Alex is actually saying. But fundamentally you are right, these threads always go the same way What I would say though is he's very good at the banter and entertaining differing opinions and doesn't take it too personally - at least I hope he doesn't. Founded by the biblical builders, architects and king Solomon.
